Agree with this. There are plenty of legitimate reasons for criticising the job he is doing. That's not one of them.
-
He made his bed last Saturday. The way people respond under pressure is a real insight to their character. That's the real Jones. He has a level I have no doubt. Premier League manager is not it IMO.
-
I can see JWP going to a West Ham when they sell Rice in the summer
-
I think it's fair to say he was instructed to climb down from last week. He tried and mostly managed it, but particularly near the end he usual attitude came to forefront.
-
Was he compromising his football beliefs in that game too? Or is it only when we lose. Thats not a dig at you btw

In most businesses NPS are issued to customers on a regular basis. Good companies listen to the feedback of their customers. They may not always make the changes being asked of them, but if things don't work for too long, they lose customers. "Customers" is how clubs see their fans in the modern era, so to be "surprised" to the backlash, which has arguably been there since day 1, but has only increased subsequently shows both naivety and a lack of ability to be in the position they're in.

I thank them for putting themselves out there for that type of session. All in all though I can't get fully behind it because NJ is still employed. Actions speak louder than words and their actions are harming the club IMO
-
I guess to play devils advocate on the situation, the board don't feel like they're "dithering" or "wasting time" etc as their lack of action, to me a least, indicates they have belief in Jones. Which I think is as bewildering as Jones claiming to be one of the best managers statistically in Europe. Said it before, I just find it all so sad and unnecessary
-
But these are people who think they know better and can beat the system. Dangerously deluded people
-
Can anyone help me understand what is used to measure his teams aggressiveness? He said he was statistically the most aggressive. What does this mean? I think this is the thing that has baffled me the most since he ha been here. He says it all the fucking time. Someone said a while back it means e "dont get bullied" etc. Which again I don't really know what that means. Is it just further nonsense from him?

Reports online that Leeds have sacked Jesse Marsch.
-
If as seems likely he gets Saturdays game and we fail to get a result, which also seems likely as we are not very good, his pattern of behaviour points to taking it out on the players. He's screwed himself by saying the compromised bollocks the other day, so I imagine he will double down and say "they didn't do what I told them" etc etc Which tbf he has kind of done previously.
-
I think todays events have proven it's the later
-
If, as was reported, all decisions made in January were geared at survival, has that gone out the window in February? I'm feeling dispirited but not surprised by the decision to seemingly continue with Jones.
-
During the pandemic, we were constantly reassured that "football without fans is nothing" I don't feel in the grand scheme of things that Saints fan are one of the archetypal "fragile, unreasonable or hostile" fan bases. I think we know what we are, we know know where we stand in the grand scheme of things and on the whole support the team through most things. The weight of fan opinion towards Jones is in all likelihood never going to be able to be undone, because even if he wins a couple of games, he is always going to be on the backfoot as soon as a bad result comes. They need to take into account fan sentiment here, get someone in that can unite everybody and see how the rest of the season goes.
-
I agree completely with that. However could you imagine the utter nonsense the ex pro's would spout, along with the hyperbole the presenters who want desperately to be in the fraternity of ex players would whip up. It's all so odd. To your previous post's point, NJ strikes me as someone with massive imposter syndrome. People quickly find that out in any job and you lose credibility. Once that's gone you're not left with much.

I think for me the biggest underlining indicator that AR may be in over his head, is at least twice he has stated that the gap between leagues (PL & Championship) is not that big. The gulf is huge and gambling on Jones is probably going to send Saints down. I said way back on this thread that he looks like he was unsure of his decisions, and he admitted it on Saturday. A parting of the ways is needed and we should be looking at a manager that can get a defined pattern of play that suits the group, with an eye on a push for promotion next season as I think it may be too late for us to survive.

We consistently lose the battle in midfield. We did against Brighton, Villa and in both games against Newcastle.
-
Question 1 & 2 please. I posted on another thread about seeing some utterly shambolic "stewarding" at the Villa game. Villa fans in the corporate boxes openly instigating trouble. Stewards just laughed it off. Wasn't block 1 closed due to fan "behaviour" etc etc
-
Acclaimed Sky "pundits" such as Neville and Carragher spout off about the wider issues in the game, despite them being quite ill informed most of the time. Carragher's comment about Everton being the worst run club in the country recently being an example. Thing to remember is, it's better for Sky to have an additional "big club" in the mix. All good for the brand etc etc. It's still incredibly nauseating however. I'd have hoped for better from broadcasters like Mark Chapman but he seemed to buy into the love-in too.

Jimmy Jay Morgan not to sign a pro contract at club!
Mr Nimbus replied to OldNick's topic in The Saints
I think your last part of the post is incredibly important. That should really be what the academy is for. Not everyone is going to be a Bale/Shaw etc. However, if we can get 2/3 squad players from it plus a real gem then it really serves it purpose. That's the disappointing thing for me recently. I don't feel (perhaps wrongly) enough are making that transition to be in the first team squad. I wonder if this will be addressed in the summer. We have a quite bloated first team now and I wonder if some of the older players may be moved on to allow the pathway to become a bit clearer. May be a necessity if/when we are relegated of course. -
This is incredibly off base.

Thank you for that incredibly detailed write up, really appreciate it. Pardon my ignorance, but is there anywhere online etc the youth games get streamed/broadcasted? -

For those that have seen them, how does he compare to Ballard & Dibling? Am I right in thinking both of those are thought of highly by the powers that be? I know Ballard has featured in the first team set up. Is JJM thought to be potentially better than those? -
Again he trots out the "aggressive" line and again I am left wondering what that means, Bypassed too easily in CM, the defence incredibly deep and Bazunu or one of the CB's just belting it forward. We have 18 games left, with some "OK" fixtures in there. I'm really not convinced he can do it, but I live in hope
