1. Worst Player of the Season. Moi is the easy answer, but for me its Bazunu. Not his fault, he's out of his depth at such a young age but I cannot believe we addressed such an important area with a GK who was playing L1 last season. Honourable mention for Adam Armstrong. 2. Worst Manager. Tough, very tough. I'm going to land on Jones because of the sheer delusion but every criticism about the on pitch stuff could be aimed at Selles too. He just wears a polo neck. 3. Worst Team Performance of the Season. So many to choose. Forest at home was the real penny drop moment for me about this lot. However I am going to go with Brentford at home. Not an obvious choice in a season full of lows but with an opportunity to get out the bottom three, to turn that performance in was pathetic. 4. Most Embarrassing Moment. The utter shower of scurrying around for a CF on deadline day. That shows the decision makers for what they really are. 5. Biggest Player Disappointment. Not his fault as he has been played out of position most of the season, but KWP. At his peak he is an international quality FB. We saw glimpses against United away when he was played in his best position. 6. Who is responsible for this shit show. Martin Semmens and Rasmus Ankerson.

I've been thinking about this over the weekend. I have talked myself into thinking Gerrard wouldn't be the worst shout. I can't even quantify how I have come to that, maybe it would be seen as a "name" appointment. I think he would be a draw for players in the Championship. I also completely agree with those who have said we desperately need some experience.

Last thing, that “finish” from Walcott in the first half sums everything up for us in the last 2 years. Fucking woeful.

Game is on Peacock in the US, so those that want a stream should have little issue getting one.

Can't agree with that part. Crouch was one of the best forwards in the league that season and Camara was really exciting.

Good thread. At least we had that Norwich game in 05. We drew so many games that season which ultimately cost us. Funny really because if we had drew say 4 games in which we have lost 1-0 this season, we would be right in the thick of it. We scored 45 goals that season and had a better GD than WBA. Despite how bad we were, one win and we would have stayed up.

Agree about the possession style, although with Lavia and JWP likely to go, you could address that in CM. Additionally 4-3-3 is probably the formation to get the best out of the wide players we have.

The issue with the sensible and logical suggestions provided by multiple posters, is the decision maker doesn't seem to believe in sensible and logical. He is smarter than all of us and knows far more about football than we can ever dream of. Don't forget in his mind the gap between the PL and Championship is not that big. I would brace ourselves for either A - Selles staying on or B - Someone not even mentioned.

That's a fair point. I think I have lost so much hope in this team, I am searching for any quality and Lavia is the one to me who produces it most often. The more I think about it, the more I agree with your point and that of GITR replying to my first point. Back to the mental drawing board.

Yeah I get what you are saying. I'm a big Charly fan so would also want him in the team. I just want to see players in the final third who can actually break teams down. Be it with a trick like Sulemana or a pass. Lavia is the only one to me who can seem to make incisive passes. Would it be much worse if say AMN played alongside JWP as the 2 CDM and Lavia played off a CF with Charly and Sulemana eitherside. I'm not saying it would be perfect but at this point anything is worth a go as what we are doing right now is pretty bad.

Whats peoples opinion of playing Lavia further forward? He seems to me the only one with an ounce of ability and on multiple occasions this season he has ghosted past midfielders. Penetrative passes in the final third are sorely missing, as is forwards making runs, it could be worth a shout?

For me the blame solely lies at their door. Poor decision after poor decision. I cannot argue with the investment. However the recruitment of players has been completely woeful (Lavia aside) Semmens sold the club to these charlatans and he should be removed from his post imo

I would be staggered if Lavia was here next season. Regardless of which division we play.

I've been pretty warm to Selles. No doubt we have improved marginally, which tbf wasn't that difficult based on the previous shower. Yesterday did finally confirm to me though he's not the man to bring us back next season imo. The Leeds, Brentford and WHU games are as bad as any other performances this season. Just completely lacking in any type of attack plan. I hope we can get a few more points and not get completely embarrassed but we need to be thinking for next season now and for me, that shouldn't be with Selles as manager.

My record for predictions so far has been terrible. However I am not confident about this at all. Has a feel of when Forest went there the other week and got tanked. Everything about it makes me pretty certain we will lose, including being the 2:00pm game on Sky with their awful ex-pros. Think I will just watch it on Peacock/USA

VVD for 13 million and sold for 75 is something pretty incredible. Probably the best defender I have seen us have and arguably one of the best all round players. It's crazy he was with us for as long as he was because you could see he was way too good for us after about 3 games. Honourable mention to Mane too. Mental how little we sold him for.
