  1. The PL has many positives, that mainly relate to the club itself. Increased TV revenue, exposure & higher commercial opportunity. The PL has overtime, eroded the game of it's connection with the fans. So I really am not sure where I stand anymore.
  2. Also helped that RVP had one of the best individual seasons in PL history. When all the talk goes on about United and their crap recruitment, I often think player X would have already been at United under Ferguson. Kane, Grealish and Bellingham al spring to mind. As for Tino, he's class, we all know he's class and he will be England's Kyle Walker successor at RB after the next Euros I reckon (Injury's permitting)
  3. It's more the overall body of work I am using to make my point with. I'm not writing him off, I'm looking to get thoughts of other fans on his ability.
  4. Good result. Both CB's impressed me as did Downes. Sort of game you forget instantly and look back on at the end of the season as one of those gritty away day's that were a crucial part of a promotion season (hopefully) That "finish" from Mara though, absolutely dreadful. Is there a player that can consistently contribute for us?
  5. Pretty sure he will be out the door in Jan
  6. I really wanted this to work out, but I just can't see it doing do. Thing is we've put all our eggs in this basket. I'm certain that with some decent (and arguably simple) structural changes on the pitch, protecting the defence a bit more and defending properly, this squad is easily a top 6 team. I like Martin but he's nailed to his "system" and I think it will cost him (and us)
  7. Was a rocky at times performance, so was really pleased to get out of there with the victory. From the angle in the ground I am, it looked like an almost Bergkamp vs Newcastle touch by Armstrong for the second goal. Was hilarious when I saw it back that I was maybe a little off base. Great finish mind. I've nothing against Manning as Martin obviously loves him and he's contributing really well with assists. The ball in-behind him is a worry though. QPR had a chance that almost mirrored Plymouths goal and he just seemed to have no recovery pace and was in a bad initial position. I'm going to be contrarian and say whilst I think he did well at CB, the change of moving Charles back, actually impacted us for quite a while. He looked to already be dominating CM and I hope to see him in there more than at CB. He's going to be some player. If we can get a result at Sunderland, that sets the Leicester game up really well.

    Che Adams

I have a feeling it will be a deadline day move to Fulham for Che.
  9. Thought we got the win we probably just about deserved to get over the 90 minutes. I seem to owe Adam Armstrong a huge apology. I honestly thought he was done here. I saw someone last season who appeared to be broken. His confidence was non existent and I would have taken any money for him. He's proved me to be massively wrong on this one and long may it continue.
  10. Top 6 with a decent end of the window. Top 2 with a very good end to the window.
  11. I'd be surprised if Charles wasn't playing most games.
  12. Did they state when ST would be cascaded? Is there a precedent for usual times when they are issued out etc?
  13. Have I missed an update on Ballard? Has he gone with the squad?
  14. I have a feeling (maybe wrong) that quite a few of the twitter generation are in for a rude awakening this season. Pretty sure a song reverberating around St Marys when we played our first game in the championship after the last PL relegation was "we're only here for a season" As I say, hope I am wrong.
  15. Strange really, whilst their branding is purple, their debit cards are teal. So they could have done it in teal if needed.
  16. Like the away. Might get a pair of them shorts
  17. Interesting. A sensible signing for Forest at that price. That and the Daka links (both of which I was unaware of) would explain the Piroe interest then.
  18. Daka and Iheanacho will be a really competitive pairing in this league.
  19. I'd be happy with that. Maybe Edozie/Mara in for Armstrong. Of course a lot of our business is determined by who leaves. I said in the thread earlier I can see some of our saleable assets actually starting the season with us (probably nor Lavia) and when the PL starts and a middling club starts poorly, a mad deadline day rush will happen and players like JWP, Adams and even Salisu will go then. I really can't see us selling Tino for anything less than 40 million. Whilst he's not worth it right now, I think that sends out the right message that we won't roll over and have our tummy's tickled.
  20. HA. He's already on that journey don't worry 😄
  21. Decided to stay in the FS. See how mush feels about it and will review next season.
  22. I can see some of our "key" players/assets etc moving incredibly late in the window. There's still a long way to go before we have any real clue as to what our squad will look like for the majority of our season.
  23. Almost forgot until I saw the upcoming DD for Monday. Really looking forward to being a ST holder again. Not had one since Koeman's first season. Annoying really as I sat through some tripe plummeting down through the leagues, had an amazing journey back and had to give up my ST just as we had the most successful period in recent times. Hoping we have a promotion push and I can share it with my lad. UTS
  24. They must have got way more tight on it then. When I and my old circle of pals had our ST's a few years back, we all stood back row. As did the majority around us in blocks 36 through 40. I get the club have to be tight on it though.
  25. Mush is 16 in a few weeks. He's not too mad on football but enjoys attending. Bit wet, but it's really just an attempt for me to spend a bit of time with him tbh.
