  1. No idea if this is a legit source or not.
  2. It’ll be Middlesbrough away first game.
  3. You can’t sack a player because they are injured and you can’t just stop their rehabilitation.
  4. He’s our employee. We bought him while injured. You can’t sack a footballer because they are injured. He owes us nothing and is perfectly entitled to look for a final bumper deal as he enters his thirties. I hope he stays but understand if he chooses not to. If we wanted him that badly we should have activated the clause earlier.
  5. We bought him, that’s on us. He is thirty this summer, has probably one last decent contract left. I wouldn’t blame him for looking elsewhere. Hope he stays though.
  6. I can understand the logic of Ross Stewart. He is thirty over the summer and will have one last chance of a decent deal. If we had taken up the one year option he could have been out on his ear, possibly injured, at thirty one. Yes, we have helped him through his recovery but he did get injured playing for us so that’s our job. We expect loyalty yet it seems that it has to be on our terms. I hope he stays but wouldn’t blame him if he chose to get a good final pay day elsewhere.
  7. Let’s keep politics off the main football site please. I get frustrated enough seeing gullible folk on twitter harping on about “stop the boats”, no need for it to seep into this forum.
  8. Could we not just sell one or two players for a tidy sum and then just say to the rest, “stay for the season, take us up and share this £50 million between you”?
  9. I can’t see who stays or more realistically who wants to stay. Stephens will hang around as a club man, Bragg as he’s getting game time, and then who? Quarshie, Archer, Edozie? The players have given a lot for this campaign, especially towards the end of the season, sacrificing days off and family time. And for what? They will all be looking to get out and not sure how we could stop them after this. Yes, they’re contracted but we all know that means very little if a player wants out. I think I’m done with it for a while. Just a bit fed up with football. I’ve not watched international games for many years now, and stopped watching MOTD or caring about the Prem once we went down. A bit sick of it all now, especially Saints.
  10. If we won the first case we would have had to win the EFL appeal. This way we bring in the Big Dog for the “winner takes all” final, no more appeals allowed. Wonder if this is why we agreed to that deal. 🤞
  11. I can see why they got Lord Pannick in for the appeal. If he had won the first case, EFL could have appealed. Both sides have agreed that the result tonight is final so this is the one you have to win, not the first one. Get the Big Dog in for the winner takes all final.
  12. How would people feel if we had a centre forward who dived a lot and got a lot of penalties? Every opportunity to actively and directly impact a game by cheating? Would fans want him out or would we support the cheating? I understand we have broken rules but the world of football is full of cheating. I’m disappointed but not incandescent with rage!
  13. I reckon the sell on fee when Fernandes jumps ship at West Ham will easily cover any potential fine.
  14. Just wondering if THB made a joke about Ayling and his stutter?
  15. We’re just watching players run into space in the box. The responsibility of defending is too much for Charles.
  16. Shea Charles checked on his man, the let him go and get the shot in. No awareness or urgency.
  17. I’m a bit concerned with no Downes and Charles in there. The pairings that have worked well are FD/CJ and SC/CB. Sure I’ll be proved wrong though.
  18. Could it be that the lone wolf wanted a job at Saints and we refused it, or somebody at the club has pissed him off? For payback, he went up there and got caught spying deliberately to get us kicked out the playoffs? 😉 🕵️
  19. Tricky first half but did well to come through that. Scienza and Fellows were just defending, and when they did get the ball as an outlet, they were stationary and facing our goal. Sometjmes you’ve just got to ride the storm out. Boro would have wanted to a big start to get the fans up. The only disappointment for me today was Larin. Got man handled a few times early and seemed to struggle after that. My man of the match was THB with honourable mentions for James Bree and Peretz. We’ll have them at St Mary’s.
  20. Scienza has got to start playing the percentages and put a cross in or feed manning for the cross. We must waste five decent moments a game with him trying top bins!
  21. Looking at the positives, we have been battered but it still 0-0. I’ll take that.
  22. Looking at the finishing position of the past ten playoff final winners. 4th 5 times 3rd 3 times 5th 2 times 6th 0 times May be the home advantage second game is the difference?
  23. I think there has been some confusion here over final day (this Saturday) and Play off final (Sat 23rd May, ko tba)
  24. If and when Ipswich go up, they will struggle in the Prem with VAR. Every single corner they were shoving our defenders away, blatant but never spotted. Also they won’t get all the dodgy pens.
  25. A solid enough first half. Bit concerned about Wood man marking and getting dragged up field occasionally for goal kicks, leaving space behind. Leo needs to stay on his feet and actually skin a player with ease and then it’ll show the ref what he can do, put some doubt in his head whereas at the moment he thinks he’s just looking for it. Shame Manning had that shot instead of crossing it to an unmarked Larin. Reckon we’ve got this 2-0, unless the ref has a stinker and gifts them something.
