Seeing as NJ will be playing how he wants us to from now on, we should have our new manager bounce on Saturday, so we're basically garenteed a win. All good. Worries averted.

Kudos to the panel for holding the forum. As Paul mentioned at the beginning, these are pretty rare with PL clubs, so hats off. Glad that the rumours were untrue and attendees could ask their own questions. This really reinforced the collective feelings towards NJ seeing as a lot of the focus ended up back with him. Having Rasmus and Semmens admit to being unhappy with the Brentford post match presser was reassuring in a very small sense - would've been worrying if they had tried defending it. They seemed happy to talk at the bar afterwards which shows willing. The innocent and naive side of me would like to believe that relegation was factored into this season's plan simply because it makes sound business sense. We've been flirting with the bottom three for a number of seasons, so better it's planned for than coming as a surprise with little financial reserve to help with a promotion push and all that comes with the drop. They'll certainly have a list of managerial targets should they relieve NJ of his duties. Would be very interesting to know who's on that list. Would they go down a completely different avenue? Pay big for someone already in a job? Would Dragan trust Rasmus and his data again?

If these are accurate, I would imagine KWP might be a little displeased.

Confidence breeds confidence. If we were to start banging in many a super goal, and the pressure was lifted a little, maybe it would help. Willy playing the next handful of games might stop Baz's confidence taking further bashing. Being dropped could also dent his confidence however. I have said 'confidence' many times.

That was quick - fair play. Doesn't really seem to be edited going by the length of the video compared to the recording posted earlier?

Enigmatic thread title lols.

I live in constant hope, but that's usually thwarted by unreasonable expectation. Haven't listened to the recording yet, but here's hoping that ego and arrogance is left in the car park.

Just listened to the beginning of the recording - can appreciate the reasoning, can't argue with that.

You're not wrong. Retaining complete control of a situation helps, too. No live stream and controlled questioning will enable him/them to spin the evening how they wish. Very cynical of me, and I'd happily be proved wrong. Will be interesting to hear the attendee's verdict on the evening compared with the edited highlights...

Certainly can't complain about how much money they've pumped into player purchases. Granted there's been frustration as to when players have been brought in, i.e the much needed striker during Ralph's tenure, but who knows, maybe benefit of the doubt is deserved. Maybe they tried? Jones was definitely seen as a shrewd, hipster type appointment, but recent results aside, NJ's outburst at the weekend alone must've taken them all by surprise just as much as it did us. Interesting to hear that about Dragan. Would love to know his thoughts on recent events. Given that he doesn't accept failure, it seems mad that relegation would've been factored into NJ's appointment. A somewhat defeatist approach for someone who dislikes failure?

Cant see this being used as anything other than a PR exercise. It's not being live streamed, questions are vetted, and likely being asked by the host to avoid anyone going off-piste, and the video/audio edited (potentially heavily depending on how it goes) before being released. If the rumour @charliemiller mentioned on the NJ thread is true, and NJ is sacked this afternoon, Rasmus, Semmens and co. will have a slightly easier ride. Maybe. They're not stupid enough to think that a forum with vetted questions will suddenly get everyone on board with NJ and the current mess, so it is surprising that the forum hasn't been postponed. They must be feeling confident.

Superb thinking! Leave your shoes at home people. We be wearing LOLlerblades on Saturday.

Just before we take a corner against Wolves, someone shout "Hands up if you want Jones out". Prowsey will signal by chucking his hand(s) up before taking the corner, and it'll look like he's joining in. It'll be absolute scenes and incredible lols. Many rofls would be had.

Fair play to Newcastle. What a lot of people don't seem to realise is that Newcastle fans REALLY like football. They don't just attend home games, but some go to away fixtures too. They deserve some silverware because they're one of just a handful of clubs that haven't won anything for a while, so they want it more than anyone else. The rest of the footballing country should be ashamed of themselves. You can't want it as much as Newcastle - stop being so entitled. They deserve it. Amazing how pundits can make a living licking hole.

Southampton(1) 1-2 (3)Newcastle - League Cup Semi Final - Second Leg
Southner replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
Agreed. Similar to American football - taken off, temporary sub brought on, and injured player evaluated until they're deemed okay/not okay to continue. Would stop instances like last year's World Cup where Iran's defender tried getting his keeper to get on with the game even though he'd suffered a head injury, and was clearly in no state to continue. -
Hopefully drown the Kop out with some bangin' psalms.

Saints 1-1 (p6-5) Sheffield Wednesday - Match Thread

True, and to be fair, if the defender wasn't there to clear the first of his two quick fire attempts off the line, he would've likely missed the target, so thankfully the defender spared his blushes. -

We can score penalties, so we just need to draw fouls in the box from here on, and we'll escape the drop. Simple. I don't think we should be relying on Theo to get goals from open play. -
Well this is a trip down memory lane...
