Now that the first home game is sold out I'd have thought the season ticket resale program would kick in. Can't find anything and nothing is mentioned in the extensive new FAQs. Anyone know anything? I don't fancy an hour on hold to the ticket office to try and find out. I could sell and transfer privately of course, but most on here probably have season tickets and given that no one knows how well this may or not work, I'd hate to take money off someone I dont know who then ends up being unable to use them for some techical reason. So much easier in previous seasons- just return to saints or hand the card to a mate if I couldn't make it. 2 padded seats in kingsland block 31 if anyone is interested. 1 adult, one U18, but I'm sure 2 adults would be fine 🫢

Wow. Season before last I rang up twice as my dad was coming to a game and asked if there was disabled parking I could use (he has a blue badge), on both occasions I was told 'absolutely none, they are all sold out/allocated at the start of the season'. Their recommendation was to use the drop off and collection point at the front of the stadium. Much easier said than done on match days and it was a real pain both times. Dropped him off and took 40 mins for me to get back to him, nowhere for him to sit either. Longer in reverse.

Felt like I was a lone voice supporting that European super league when it came about a few years ago. I couldn't understand the outrage. Let those mega teams with infitinte budgets and dodgy lawyers go and play with themselves. Adios! It'll all go WWF in the end anyway, while a reconstituted top flight English league without the top 6 would be a proper football league, real competition with a true fanbase. Of course the teams left behind would lose some revenue because the top 6 don't come to town, so they'd adjust player salaries downwards to compensate which wouldn't be bad thing. Che Adams would have to live on 25k a week instead of 50k a week, poor thing.

My adult one and U18 one in block 29 went up more 30%. Wanted to move to 32 or 33 then discovered its only £6 more per game for a padded seat, so done that. I'll pass on the shite beer instead. I'll put a request in for heated seats for next season 😂

All sold out. Was hoping to get a couple more for a couple of family members (unpaid members, but with supporter numbers)

Turn up early for a beer and the stadium is still shut and 20min queue for a beer outside. It's the saints way ...
-
And not even a last home game free beer token ... times must be hard.

Hoping to see a run out for the youngsters. I'd pretty much play them all as this game is meaningless. Two reasons: - Keeps our A team (don't laugh) free of injuries for the play-offs - Gives next season's players a run out. I think some may well be better than first team choices

Why aren't they putting in safe standing for the away fans? Would seem an obvious thing to do as part of the changes, perhaps we aren't bothered about the safety of away fans 😅
-
Liverpool away in the cup this season. Was OK, I think the barriers help from a safety perspective but not really that much different for away fans.
-
Such a bleeding obvious solution! Simples.
-
But that's a fallacy. At away games many groups just get together tighly packed and seat allocation becomes irrelevant. At least there will be the barriers, but people will be more densley packed than with seating. If it's the same number of supporters as there are currently seats, then there will probably be 'open' ish areas to the sides.

Same for me, block 29. Wouldn't mind the move for cup games as tend to get tickets elsewhere for variety anyway. But ... Imagine being next to that drone from the Millwall supporters. Jesus. I park to the south and walk through the industrial area too. That could become problematic. Pompey game will be a war zone around there. Well lose the Chapel Arms to away supporters. Enjoy a pre game beer in there most games. Could go directly opposite but then you get the sun in your eyes for half a season. Oh, and 15% dearer too! If we don't go up, I don't see next season being as good either (for all reasons discussed elsewhere). No good for me at all.
-
So is it the same number of supporters? I thought part the benefit of safe standing is that you cram in more people, so ground capacity increased?

Having seen the highlights of last night's game, am I the only one that thinks the first goal should be credited to Adams (as it came off him last) and that the KWP strike was probably going wide .. and it came off Adams' raised arm therefore it should have been disallowed with a free kick to Coventry? The ref was in a great position to see this, but fortunately he was so crap that he ignored it.

Problem is, when he came on the pitch for his nap, I didn't see any Romeu type characters having a go. I think we really lack a few steely hard knocks that can get the rest to pull up their socks and earn their £20k or so for the 20 mins on the pitch. It's nice to be friends and all that, but you're paid to get on with it and win ... half heartedness shouldn't be tolerated. I think a Souness or Keane type would do wonders with some of these overpaid, underperforming kids. I realise that's hard to get that going with the walking possesion based football we seem to love, but there has to be a better way.

Been to 7 aways this year and have seen bits of that. Starting to put me off going to aways. I challenged one 'yoof' at a game to pack it in and got 'its all part of away's mate'. No it f******g isn't. People can get seriously hurt and suffer life changing injuries. And all for what? Madness.
-
Season ticket holder here and done 7 aways this season. I take your point that its been better than the last 2 seasons, but also painful at times. I don't really enjoy the possesion thing at all costs. Its not great to watch. Tolerable if it was enough for promotion. But if it persists for mid tableness, then I'm not sure it's something I'd continue to pay for. I keep saying we should leave St Mary's at HT as second halves are generally painful. Realise we cant win every game, but the limp defeats and draws or not easy on the eyes. It's not like we go down all guns blazing. Not missing the VAR at all. Am missing lively football though ...

Don't think he'll survive another season in the championship if we dont go up. We'll lose our better players next season, he doesn't have a plan B (and plan A doesn't seem good enough for promotion), quality players won't see us as an attractive proposition as they may have done this year. SR will keep with him until Christmas when it'll become apparent we are out of it I'm pretty fearful for next season tbh.
-
It wouldn't surprise me at all. That said, I do think it's a meaningless game for us.
-
Indeed. We are then just three 0-0s from the premiership! Take the shackles off Smallbone, just pass it around, fill your boots. Can we not bore the opposition into three goalless draws?
-
I think we've been lucky this season too. Yes we've conceded some late goals (but they weren't down to bad luck, eg Middlesborough deserved their point today). We've won a fair few at the death, some earned, some luck. It's evened out IMO.
-
I know different players suit different styles and different clubs, but how Wolves think he'll be better at 1 on 1s with them I have no idea. A likeable chap, but league 1 or 2 for me. (Have we sent Smallbone's CV to Wolves?)
-
And he thinks he's too good for us 😂

The only way he'll come back is if Russ departs in the summer. I don't think this is likely at all. Promotion or not, Russ will be manager next season (at the start at least) and I don't think Charly fits with Russball. If we aren't promoted I worry whether a weakened team can make Russball work a second season. I think not. It's a shame as I think Charly gave us another angle.
