  1. On a positive note, it will be an exciting end to the season. Whether we avoid the drop or not.
  2. Ipswich feels like a season defining game. Lose that, heads will go down, supporters lose interest and its a long way back from there. I don't think we have resiliency in the team, not enough gritty winners. The manager doesn't seem the sort, the players are weak overall and who knows what the f**k SR are up to. More pain to come I fear. No corners turned yet.
  3. They lost their star striker too 😂

    Che Adams

Assuming we could have got £10m for him, and assuming he leaves next summer, then I guess we're 'paying' some £260k a week for his services for this season. ... hope the goals come! (£10m/45 + £35k week wages that I think I read he's on)
  5. Deadline day, striker crisis ... wouldn't have it any other way. Only had since June 14th to sort it out, but why rush ... tall Pauls are always available on deadline day. Lessons learned 😂😂😂😂
  6. But we haven't been able to buy a decent one in two years, and here we are 8 days out again ... This year though, looks like we're letting go of the two that show promise.
  7. So what happened with him at Wet Spam? I guess he couldn't force himself into the first team of a relegation threatened side and they decided JWP is more their level?
  8. It's a good omen that a relatively poor team with average performances can grind out 7 pts from these 3 games. We've won 3pts in injury time and 2pts with 3 minutes to go. We could just as easily be on 2pts right now like Leeds. Need to kick on with player improvements and incoming players. This streak won't last a season. We're fortunate, let's not waste it.
  9. I agree with this, begs the question though, why would Everton buy Che and not Piroe?
  10. Funny how clubs can negotiate all sorts of complicated deals about add-ons, sell ons, appearances etc but can't manage anything better with players themselves. They can sign a 4, 5 and 8 year contracts on good money and there seems no way to reduce the cost of that if they go crap in years 2 to 5.
  11. Hope so. The whole 'sell on percentages' thing eats into to our business model, by some 20% or so by the sound of things. I don't like the concept, it retains too much financial power with the big clubs who can afford the academies in the first place. I presume it doesn't work the other way? 'If player gets injured for more than 3 months in the next 5 years then you pick up 20% of his wage cost?' I'd like to see those clauses outlawed as they afftect the financial dynamic of the sport.
  12. Exactly, Dragan has been burned once, if he's a shrewd businessman he'll recoup what he can from player sales and parachute payments before spending much again. Let's be honest, with two weeks to go you'd hardly say our transfer activity has set the league on fire. We know what panic deadline day signings look like.
  13. He'll line up against JWP next Sunday.
  14. He'll be back in 2 to 3 years time.
  15. I'd have thought it more to do with injury risk. I doubt Liverpool would offer less if he was cup tied for the EFL cup
  16. The treble has gone
  17. Love a good cup run.

    Joe Lumley

Jason Wilcox has now gone down in my estimation - "Joe will be a good addition to what is already a strong stable of goalkeepers here," director of football Jason Wilcox told the Saints website. Anyone seen this strong stable of ours?
  19. So assuming Lavia and JWP go, that's around £100m in sales. Will much of that get re-invested or will Dragan claw it back to offset his losses so far. Feel sorry for Tella ... rips up the championship last season while Tino lies on a couch and he gets the big payday. Bizarre.
  20. This. Its a bonkers world/market when half a season sees a £35m rise. What a windfall for Chelsea, bet they can't believe their luck ... except when he goes to Saudi for £100m in a season's time 😂 having been a bench warmer and injured of course for most of that season.
  21. Then there would have been an offer of £40m. The market says he's currently worth £30m. To us, the board think he's worth £40m.
  22. Brave. Remember Armstrong and Adams will be tearing up the championship too 😂
  23. Good job Semmens isn't still here, he'd declare this as a victory and vindication for last season't performance
  24. ... and when do you think they will buy their way into the Champions League and draw Maccabi Haifa in the first round?
  25. He'd never have to commute, they'd provide an apartment he'd stay in a few nights a week. On the travel to/from Winchester, he'll be chauffeur driven.
