  1. So what happened with him at Wet Spam? I guess he couldn't force himself into the first team of a relegation threatened side and they decided JWP is more their level?
  2. It's a good omen that a relatively poor team with average performances can grind out 7 pts from these 3 games. We've won 3pts in injury time and 2pts with 3 minutes to go. We could just as easily be on 2pts right now like Leeds. Need to kick on with player improvements and incoming players. This streak won't last a season. We're fortunate, let's not waste it.
  3. I agree with this, begs the question though, why would Everton buy Che and not Piroe?
  4. Funny how clubs can negotiate all sorts of complicated deals about add-ons, sell ons, appearances etc but can't manage anything better with players themselves. They can sign a 4, 5 and 8 year contracts on good money and there seems no way to reduce the cost of that if they go crap in years 2 to 5.
  5. Hope so. The whole 'sell on percentages' thing eats into to our business model, by some 20% or so by the sound of things. I don't like the concept, it retains too much financial power with the big clubs who can afford the academies in the first place. I presume it doesn't work the other way? 'If player gets injured for more than 3 months in the next 5 years then you pick up 20% of his wage cost?' I'd like to see those clauses outlawed as they afftect the financial dynamic of the sport.
  6. Exactly, Dragan has been burned once, if he's a shrewd businessman he'll recoup what he can from player sales and parachute payments before spending much again. Let's be honest, with two weeks to go you'd hardly say our transfer activity has set the league on fire. We know what panic deadline day signings look like.
  7. He'll line up against JWP next Sunday.
  8. He'll be back in 2 to 3 years time.
  9. I'd have thought it more to do with injury risk. I doubt Liverpool would offer less if he was cup tied for the EFL cup
  10. The treble has gone
  11. Love a good cup run.

    Joe Lumley

Jason Wilcox has now gone down in my estimation - "Joe will be a good addition to what is already a strong stable of goalkeepers here," director of football Jason Wilcox told the Saints website. Anyone seen this strong stable of ours?
  13. So assuming Lavia and JWP go, that's around £100m in sales. Will much of that get re-invested or will Dragan claw it back to offset his losses so far. Feel sorry for Tella ... rips up the championship last season while Tino lies on a couch and he gets the big payday. Bizarre.
  14. This. Its a bonkers world/market when half a season sees a £35m rise. What a windfall for Chelsea, bet they can't believe their luck ... except when he goes to Saudi for £100m in a season's time 😂 having been a bench warmer and injured of course for most of that season.
  15. Then there would have been an offer of £40m. The market says he's currently worth £30m. To us, the board think he's worth £40m.
  16. Brave. Remember Armstrong and Adams will be tearing up the championship too 😂
  17. Good job Semmens isn't still here, he'd declare this as a victory and vindication for last season't performance
  18. ... and when do you think they will buy their way into the Champions League and draw Maccabi Haifa in the first round?
  19. He'd never have to commute, they'd provide an apartment he'd stay in a few nights a week. On the travel to/from Winchester, he'll be chauffeur driven.

    Russia

It is odd, surely a few MIGs and chopers would wipe it all out ... a turkey shoot, especially on Russian soil.
  21. I agree. Let's get the first five defeats in August under our belts before we start the 'Martin out' comments.
  22. Doesn't look like promotion form.
  23. I don't know why they can't just keep it simple. Liverppol, Man C, Man U, Arsenal et al just largely keep it as it is. Just stick to red and white stripes FFS.
  24. Same for my U18 in block 29. £5 off £404 making it a 1.3% reduction. I may email them for fun to ask them to show me their workings out. I can then mark it and correct it for them. It's a small point but indicates sloppyness. You would think someone in charge would say 'before I put this statement out, assure me it's factually correct". Its basic business 101. With maths like that though I can see why we pay £18.6m for £1m strikers.
  25. You have a lot of confidence. From what we've seen from their first 16 months of ownership, what makes you think they will go from one of the worst out of 92 to probably one of the top 10 to be able to earn promotion?
