A very fair point. If SMS killed RL's finances ultimately , as sure as hell Southampton and Eastleigh councils weren't getting involved in expensive and controversial green belt developments at Stoneham. Northam has proved more than adequate for Saints albeit no shopping mall extras next to the M27 that Rupes would have preferred no doubt.

HMRC court case is not until unspecified February date. That could be postponed once or twice and then false promises and bureaucracy so I say April 30 until administrators are called in. I'd imagine it's also in the Premier League's interest to help Pompey stay afloat until the season is over and then they become the FL's problem.
-
It is indeed amusing that the various gun runners and mythical sheiks who have been involved with Pompey say they are "surprised and shocked" at the HMRC winding up order. Obviously all they have to do is pay the bills and we will agree with them.

He's talking a good game but he's done that more than once before. I'd hope he has grown up now.

That effing socialist John Gummer is standing down as an MP at the next election so he can help climate change campaigners. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8434735.stm

Not sure about their songs but they have done a lot to promote chavkind so they have helped change the world.

A good interview - but done by Jeremy Wilson who knows about Saints. Still, it looks a nice piece.

You clearly speak for all the electorate Gemmel.

As an engineer WG, why would you think that a coal power generation company such as Drax that emits the largest amount of CO2 in western Europe from its single operational base accepts the theory of man-made climate change? http://www.draxpower.com/corporate_responsibility/climatechange/

Given a choice of nuke missile deterrent subs or two aircraft carriers, I'd take the subs each time as they can also fire conventional missiles. Though not as many as an aircraft carrier can from its planes of course. But then, a type 45 missile destroyer can also fire guided missiles over a battleground.

Good old Wills has had a night with the homeless. Is that a good PR-inspired thing or a patrionising stunt? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8426630.stm

Bring out your plumbers Redondo.

What nonsense. Each main political party looks as though they have a chance to have an effect on the future and the election is a few months away.

My league V looks tough but I am glad to see that the other one new entrant from VI looks far weaker than So Unreal and there also seems to be a bot still, that might help my chances of survival next season. I anticipate a lower end struggle still. However I did spend loads of money on posh seats that never got filled in VI so that might help me with revenue, I hope.

Would you prefer plumbers, carpet layers and the the general unemployed to be in charge?

Oh noes... The tories might have to make some policies rather than just criticise Labour! Actually, their energy and enviro bloke Greg Clark has made "promises", but I bet they will watered down by Cameron's election manifesto...

Don't you think your thread title was a bit silly though TDD?

After today's defeat we should sack Pardew and hire Mark Hughes.

Apparently there wasn't food or water for the people on the train either. And they were treated like animals. Hilarious video on the BBC site below. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8422305.stm

Not Xmas songs specifically but just remember my parent's ABBA LP always being on.
