Yes, artificers, riveters, welders, designers

Well, you're a fool if you think there is no link. Who do you think builds ships?
-
No. Ships are built in Japan, and elsewhere. Not in the UK. The UK shipyards that had the skills and the ports to build panamax containerised ships for modern trade were shut down by Thatcher. The UK had the skills, wherewithal and docks to build the massive container ships that are being built elsewhere at one every two weeks.

1. We don't have the dosh. Odds are at least one of the new carriers will become an assault heli ship cos no money, Unless you want to take it away from NHS, education etc. We are on a giant deficit atm. Maybe just one assault ship as there is one hull with the F-35 program going to ****. 2. Thatcher's government destroyed ship building expertise in the UK cos it was viewed as socialist unionist troublemakers. So she shut it. Excellent idea. Ships are now built in Japan.

Every RN guy I know from pipe fitter to senior officer bleats the same. As do the Army and RAF. If we ain't got the dosh, we ain't got the dosh. Thatcher flogged off the shipyards expertise so there you go.

It beats the family bible doesn't it. SWF is Sotonian Peoples History. Needs to be recorded.

As a Hampton Park lad we viewed St Georges an catholic church going non-entities... but I accept that Glen Eyre fell between the two. A few frosty days on Burgess Road were had. There was one lad in my year who ended up at HP having been expelled from both St Georges and Glen Eyre. He was in my form at HP so I made a note to self to stay close! We got on fine!

My cats are too damn picky about their litter too! The cat flap is two metres away!

I saw a BBC prog where this guy in the US somewhere makes sugar drinks for some species of bird that migrates from Mexico to New York. He is on some half way point but the birds all know it. And they arrive en masse like starlings to his pumping station each time. Amazing.

And I want some c**t who speaks English in the taxi after I'm sick!

£3.80 at at Zorbas in Bedford Place!

That lot plus other animals might be loud at night. I'd hope that you wouldn't oppose a wind turbine on that basis, should it come your way!

Dune probably has goldfish in his pond. Herons are great when they make an appearance in urban areas like mine, always two. But they are looking for fish. I agree with Dune (which is rare) that it is lovely to see different types of birds doing what they can. I have put some feeders out in my garden too. I chuck all the bacon/meat fat into one can with a bit of string all the way through, heat it up and bung bits and bobs in like veggie leftovers, and pull it out congealed and hang it in the garden..... the birds love it!

I guess Chanrai's move clears the fog a bit. But he seems late in the day if he wanted to keep Pompey in the PL. Now it looks like Chandrai and Gaydamek own all assets and liabilities. I'd suppose Chandrai will pay off debtors like HMRC if he has to do so and then work out what to do with Pompey and the land after a chat with Gaydamek.

Good. Glad to see you back. I was running out of decent climate change opponents!! -
So they are on about 0.66 points per game. They do have quite a few home fixtures against teams they need to beat but I can't see them breaking 30 points even if they had an unlikely renaissance. That assumes they reach the end of the season as a live club or without 9 points docked. With a bit of luck the whole thing will start affecting them anyway and they start to unravel dramatically on the pitch as well as off it. I feel there is a thin end of the wedge approaching as far as players' faith and patience with the entire scenario. It's a lot of pressure for the players to handle.

More trouble for the RN... F-35 JSF behind schedule and over cost

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8494547.stm Defence Secretary Bob Ainsworth says RN "likely" to get carriers but wouldn't comment on F-35s. Giant helicopter assault ships, here we come! -
If the club sent the material as a press release clearly embargoed until a certain date, then the Echo are wrong. Not sure whether they did though!

Rocha was signed by Tottenham for an undisclosed fee thought to be around £3.3 million on a three-and-half-year deal, on 23 January 2007. He played his first game on the 27th, in the 3–1 win over Southend United in the FA cup's fourth round, in place of captain Ledley King who was injured at the time. On 10 February he played his first league match for Tottenham, against Sheffield United. Rocha made just five league appearances for Tottenham in 2007–08, and none in all competitions in the following season. He was eventually released on 14 June 2009, after his contract expired. On 31 August 2009, he moved to Belgium with Standard Liège, on a one-year deal. On 31 January 2010, Standard Liège released him on a free transfer. I don't think he's gonna cut the mustard!
