  1. Hopefully on the outskirts rather than in rat central.
  2. I'm not one to judge here I went to Portsmouth. Still haven't managed to fully wash the stench out 30 years later.
  3. Why would they do that, he's just trying to sauce some information.
  4. Wait, are we saying that if we play Gomes now he has a 60% chance of turning into a decent player? Why aren't we playing more kids? 😉
  5. At a certain point we should accept that Carvalho doesn't want to play for Saints. He chose the Liverpool bench over us and now he wants to live in Hull. If that's not saying "I hate Southampton and never want to live there" without saying "I hate Southampton and never want to live there" then I don't know what is.
  6. If Martin gives him minutes I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. This is the first time he's been playing in a Saints side that is creating chances. Judging him based on the limp.ending to Ralph's time or the successive shit shows of Jones and Selles seems unfair. Same as with Bazunu who only recently started playing behind a defence that is denying the opposition chances. And looks better for it. Stewart is out for a while. Adams is playing our time until his free transfer and us, well, Adams. Adam A is better from the flanks. I don't see us solving our striker issues this window because, well, Saints. Plus, this season there's a physical presence about the lad that wasn't there before. So I'd like him given a serious run this season. He's not going to do worse than Che.
  7. Beating a side comfortably we should beat comfortably with lots of changes and giving our kids some minutes? That's very unSaintsy but I love it. None of the kids looked unable to play in the system. We looked able to cut them apart at will which is a wonderful change from our glorious tradition of scraping cup wins against lower league opposition.
  8. Off to Fulham on loan apparently.
  9. I'd take the entertaining 6-5 win that one of their posters was advocating.
  10. His wife is loaded. Sunak's personal fortune is nowhere near football club ownership levels.
  11. If Sunak said that about Martin I would be equally disinterested. It's ok for people to have differing opinions and be honest about them. I might wonder why Martin's politics were in any way relevant to his ability to manage the football club as I imagine the reason he'd be getting sacked would be more to do with footballing things. But that would be questioning his reasoning in this hypothetical rather than this professionalism. I would be questioning Martin's professionalism if he let Sunak turn a football match into more of a political photo opportunity for Sunak and his cameraman.
  12. Both of them are a long way off at the moment. Both as playing well for us and improving. It's an open question whether they can get there but they're doing a great job for Saints right now.
  13. You do know what Winchester College students call the rest of the population of Winchester? "The Stupids" You're right we should judge people on what they do, not what their school motto was.
  14. How was Martin unprofessional? He said his focus was winning the football match. Which is what he's paid to do and is doing a good job of. How was Martin impolite? He said he hoped Sunak enjoyed the game just like any other fan.
  15. That tackle he made tracking back last night was vital. Another thing he's added to his game this season is getting stuck in and winning the ball back. He used to just bounce off other players or get shrugged aside. Seeing him win the ball cleanly more and more.
  16. We gifted them goals in the 4-4 draw at home. Our play has come on by leaps and bounds both attacking and defensively since then. They seem to have stagnated. So, on paper a high scoring away win. But if any team is setup to exploit us at the back it's Norwich and everyone is going to be tired at the end of the festive period. So a lukewarm draw is also a possibility. And, our run has to end sometime. I'm still struggling with this new feeling of being excited about the next game.
  17. Not sure Martin has shown disrespect here. Just because a newspaper headline or forum subject is "Martin snubs Sunak" doesn't mean any snubbing happened.
  18. He's at the game as a fan. If people want to meet him then great. If they don't also great. The position of PM had more respect five years ago and Sunak played a big part in that decline. He didn't win an election to get the job. Hell, he couldn't even win a vote against Liz Truss. Same thing as when the Queen visited my work I had the chance to meet her. I declined because I think our Monarchy is part of a broken system. Nothing against her. Just didn't want any part of it. My boss thanked me for keeping myself to myself.
  19. I'm glad Martin ignored Sunak's side show and focused on his job: managing Southampton football club. I personally can't stand Sunak. He hasn't won a general election to be PM. He has managed to make the country worse since he's been in the job. He's wasted our money like a Man United manager buying attacking midfielders. His policies are about division and treating other humans like shit. And he spends more time on promoting his self image than doing anything useful. Irrespective of that if he wants to come and watch them good for him but I don't want him dragging Saints into his political shit show. And if someone doesn't want to meet him then good for them too.
  20. Fuck-a-doodle-doo. Did not need the last five minutes. A totally dominant 2-1 win. That linesman saved us there. Though at least he was shit for both teams.
  21. 2-0. Sunak making his way down from the stands to go to the technical area and claim the credit.
  22. He hit that pretty sweetly..... with his standing leg
  23. Holy shit. That was never offside. But also, GET IN
  24. FFS. Did the commentator just say Plymouth are the only team not to score from a corner this season?
