RM has not achieved any higher than he is now. He is a mid-table championship manager at best that got lucky with promotion because ,despite his woeful philosophy on how the game should be played, the players in the teams around us were much worse than ours. The players you mention have all achieved more than RM to date.

..and scoring for Scotland 😂
-
He needs the win bonus to fund his gobshite missus now too.
-
Steady.. You don’t want to alienate yourself from half this forum now, do you?
-
I said he deserved a shot at the Premier League just for acheiving promotion even though his football is boring and predictable. I thought ten games would be fair. I’ve seen enough now though. We are wasting time that we really don’t have. I don’t want to wait until it’s too late for a competent manager to save us from the drop. Thanks for the “memories” Russ, but you’ve got to go now! 👋🏻

I enjoyed Chelsea-Forest. Forest looked competitive and the game could have gone either way. The prem is only shit if you’re not competitive.. Like us.

Exactly what i got, unfortunately.

Shock goal was a nice feeling.. but didn’t last very long. Archer off the mark is a positive. Other than that, same old shit. Getting very boring losing week in, week out.

I know, perhaps I was a little optimistic.. ...It’s just ridiculous to think we’d score 2!

We win 2-0. “Russell Martin is a football genius” echoes around the Emirates stadium for 90 minutes from the ecstatic, jubilant away support. Russell Martin punches the air at the final whistle accompanied by Lucy in her painted on Saints kit, Earther Kitts bouncing freely in the glorious London sunshine. Dragan swoops over the South East corner of the Clock End in his helicopter to shower the delerious Saints fans with £50 notes bottles of Dom Perignon 1955. A party ensues in the away end the likes of which the Woolwich outfit have never seen before, and Mikel Arteta gets on his hand and knees and bows down to the man who reinvented football for the modern era. We Are Southampton FC!

i know an egotist that is stopping me being interested in football. Hopefully he’ll be sacked in the morning.

What a shower of shit. RM out now!

Unfortunately we’ve got no choice with the players we have. I like some of our players though and think, with better direction, we could survive this season. A fresh start under a manager that isn’t afraid to try alternative ways of playing might be just enough to keep us up.
-
He’d probably be a good fit at Saints though if we have ambitions of solidifying our Prem status again. I don’t see him as a top 6 manager. He’s a bit over-rated in that respect in my opinion. Did a good job with Brighton and got them a top 10 finish.. once (i think). Got a shot at Chelsea, who admittedly were a basket case at the time, but couldn’t make a difference there and had the worst win rate of any recent Chelsea manager. I’d swap RM for him now. Get him in SR!

SSDD 3-0 Cherries 75% possession, 100% borefest. xG 6, aG 0. xGA 0.03, aGA 3 Bottom of the League by 10pm. #Wesleepwalkon

Mine was shit, we threw away a 1-0 lead. How did your match end?
-
Playing the whole game in our own half might have something to do with it..
-
Score in a brothel….
-
i read somewhere that he doesn’t play CF
-
Apparently he’s got 2 week knees!
-
Expected loss. Nothing new here.

We’ll look good for the first 30 minutes of every game while the opposition sit back and wait for us to shoot ourselves in the foot. As soon as we threatened, MU upped their game and took control of the game with ease.
-
2-0 Saints. Russ changes the system to face the mighty United. They have all the possession and we hit them twice on the counter with some fast flowing direct passing football finished off with an Archer brace. Everyone's elated! Next week we revert to the same old Dickball and get pumped by Everton, Ipswich and Bournemouth.. but we beat Man U so everything's ok.

This. View from the Itchen too. A lot of grumbling within the crowd about the pointless passing and slow build up. If things don’t change soon, there will be a backlash and fans will become more vocal.
