I had a look back at that first Watford goal and his defenders didn't really do him any favours. First manning goes down like a sack of spuds and secondly the most left sided defender doesn't even bother to get tighter to the Watford winger (Ba) and at the very least force him to go near post and make things more predictable for Baz.

Feels like I'm watching us play against our old selves with this Watford waffling at the back.

A twist in the deal with West Ham offering Ward Prowse alongside cash for Fernandes? Debuted for us 14 years ago, has a double barrelled name. Would be a bit past it one reckons, can he still press like the Ralph days 🤔
-
We just gotta aim better next time, hit an opposing defender? Skill Issue.
-
Okay so I think the refereeing is just proper incompetent, watching this derby vs stoke game, the stoke defender tries to body check the derby attacker behind him without playing the ball possibly injures him in the process and gets awarded a freekick somehow.

Can't remember the last time we got 27 shots on goal in a game, felt like our frontline weren't used to having this many chances the way some of them were going about their business.
-
Been pissing me off, totally ignored the excellent reaction save from Ward and the post strike + goal line clearance as "nothingburger" chances. There's wrong and then there's just obvious "paid off" speech.
-
I had a good feeling, Ward is pretty bad at dealing with wall free kicks

Sky employ only braindead individuals so no surprises there

Stephens could've played Moore offside if he had moved forwards in anticipation of his run.
-
Pause spammed the replay of the through ball that lead to the Penalty, Stephens played him on.
-
About time some shit refereeing went in our favour, most refs would've allowed the corner.
-
Wait wtf Danny Ward actually saved something?
-
Oh Danny Ward's in goal, we just need to put it on target and we'll win this easy.
-
Fernandes on the bench I expected, played very few minutes in pre-season. I don't think its an indicator to me that he's off yet. If he isn't subbed on until late or at all then perhaps there's more to it.

In Will's system at Lens the full backs push really high, they're more like out and out wingers so I think it'll be a different kind of 3 CB system to ones we've experienced in the past.

Tyler Dibling - Official: Signs for Everton
V.Johnathan.Wilson replied to Dusic's topic in The Saints
Its probably either leipzig or dortmund, I find it hard to believe that Dibling would want to leave for Everton that badly, Leipzig and Dortmund with their youth player development reputations, that's an entirely different story and both could easily match Everton's offer especially as Leipzig are just about to bank a ridiculous sum for Sesko. -
Robinson was the best player on the pitch. BBD I don't think was that bad, didn't really do much but didn't do a lot wrong either other than 1 or 2 mis controlled touches. Probably not going to sway his doubters with this performance but was definitely in the top half of the first half performers.

RC Lens regularly had over 15 shots per match in games they had over 50% possession so I assume that the large number of passes was a means to an end for dealing with Ligue 1 sides that sat deep rather than fannying around at the back.
-
Will Still's system is high press but there's also a lot of emphasis on ball playing ability, Lens had several games where they had close to 600 odd passes.
-
TBH I don't think we're targeting the British Market as much this time in terms of transfers.

The SIU "Brotherhood" Badge = The Lens Management team (soon to be former). The Calendar clue took a while to figure out that it was referring to Windows 95 and by association Bill Gates or William Henry Gates the III.

Still's a Red Bull esque football manager but quite willing to switch the way they play in possession and out of possession depending on who their opponents are so his teams can have wildly varying levels of possession per match. Loves to get the ball in the box as quickly as possible through any means possible (they have some stupid high crossing stats) but his team this season couldn't hit a barn door (home game expected goals was 1.88 and actual goals was 1.13 which is a ludicrous differential). At Reims he used both 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-1-2 and at Lens he used predominantly 4-2-3-1 until he lost Khusanov to Man City switching to a back 3/5 because it suited the new look team better.

I like how a lot of these clues allude to the number 3 or Microsoft.
