One good thing about how bad this current team is, it really makes me appreciate some of our previous players more. I used to complain about Maya Yoshida for example. Loved him, but was very limited at passing. Guly used to wind me up, I loved him too, but thought he was quite wasteful sometimes. But now I’ve seen Wood and Downs, watching those two was actually like watching Messi and Maldini

Completely agree, the idea that we need more time at a lower level to “rebuild” is fanciful. We need to get back up ASAP to get the money rolling in. As much as I hate VAR, the PL etc. to the point I actually prefer the championship, we have to go back up as soon as possible. Especially with these owners - they’ve managed to make us worse by spending crazy amounts. Imagine what will happen when the parachute payments stop. Huuuge trouble

Having seen how poor most of the sides are in the championship this year.. yes. He will do a job for us imo. He never relied on his pace anyway. He’s always a yard ahead because of his touch and awareness. Tbh it’s more about his influence than anything , even if he barely plays, it’s still a good signing imo. So happy. The goat Oriol back. I don’t even care if he has lost some more pace, we can get someone else to do his running. He can be our Pirlo and just ping balls about, to saints players instead of opposition or out of play like our current lot This is genuinely fucking quality. Just having him in the dressing room is huge. He’s a proper leader not like rat boy. And if the rumours about JWP coming back as well… Whatever you think of him, he will cook in the championship.

Stephens, Downes, THB, Manning. This is the core that definitely seem far from happy to me. The rest it’s hard to say. Have to assume most of them are fuming and unhappy after the last few weeks. The whole crowd singing “not fit to wear the shirt” (although justified and true) can’t be good.. lol Fraser actually has worked hard under Still and seemingly showed a great attitude since he joined us. I know he had issues at previous clubs but can’t really fault his effort here. Of course who knows behind the scenes though.

I agree entirely with Alex, we’ve not been good enough for the entire season and this was inevitable. Even pre-season was worrying in how disorganised it was Feel sorry for Still in a way though, very clearly underestimated the championship, as many do. (Spors for example). But in this case; the club did have to act. We have been SO bad I am unconvinced that anyone can turn this shit show around now though, without spending some more money in January on a striker.
