It shouldn’t have been allowed to leave from France, in the first instance. There is so, so much that could be done, that it’s a baffling question to even start to answer. On a sliding scale from 1-10 where 1 is free-for-all, unsafe borders that incentivises criminals, and 10 is the most secure border where all attempts are sunk, we are currently at a 1. Our government and NGOs actively encourage it at this point, endangering us all.
