Exactly this!! We won’t have many winnable games this season. Forest at home was the first.. instead of being positive and going for it, building on the buzz of promotion..he decided to play the most absurd negative tactics. Forest couldn’t have had an easier game.

I just don’t see that Archer is what we need at all tbh. Seems like a weird signing. We don’t play with a style that plays through balls through to a fast poacher. We never have. We need a target man that can hold it up and bring others into play. Very evident that we have no focal point currently.

I thought it was time for him to go and wished him well.. But fuck me i thought we actually bring a striker in to replace him. I didn’t think we’d go into a premier league season this understaffed in the attacking areas. We are weaker than the championship season. Really poor from the club tbh.

I do feel like it’s opposite of the Carrillo signing… Getting rid of a good player to keep a mediocre manager happy is just as bad as signing players to keep a mediocre manager happy. Add it to the list of crazy decisions - like not playing our 6ft 8 striker when we are desperate for a goal. Or sticking with a keeper for months that has lettuce wrists. Mad decision making all around this club. Fuck knows how we got promoted tbh 😂

We just need to be better than 3 teams. That’s all. Forest will likely be mid table like 14th or something with this squad and manager. If we can beat Ipswich, Leicester and Everton and steal some unexpected points in a few places we can do it. Although tbh id rather go down. PL is so boring as a skint club.

Would be one of our best signings in recent memory. I’ll be stunned if we can actually pull it off. Fantastic keeper. Hopefully he wants game time instead of bench warming and we can make him feel wanted.

Yeah this is my big worry. I love arma. He was fantastic last season. But we have a large amount of evidence that he’s not quite good enough to replicate his goal scoring in the premier league. Yet we are heavily relying on him again this season as things stand.

Bijlow only needs to be fit for games against the bottom teams. We can rest him against the big six. We can just wheel him in for the six pointers then wheel him back to the medical department for the games we have no chance in anyway. Sorted

It’s because he’s absolutely dire. Even yesterday, sure, he probably wouldn’t have made the same mistake that Macca did, but he probably would have made a different mistake. Let in a pea roller or a something. We wouldn’t have been promoted with him in goal, although we can’t be 100% certain, I am 99%. One of the worst shot stoppers I’ve seen for us in any league

The really distressing part is, as utterly wank as McCarthy is, he’s still better than all of our other goalkeeper options. Shocking indictment of our recruitment team. Imagine if Bazunu was fit. Nightmare.

Sad truth is we simply can’t compete for genuine PL quality strikers in this window. We don’t have the money or the reputation. A gamble on a young up and coming player like Archer may backfire. But it’s also probably our best option in this crazy market.
