Has he gone yet?

What a crock of shit. THB is steadily improving week by week. And Flynn is being thrown under the bus consistently by the managers shite tactics. Of all the people to criticise at the club, those 2 are toward bottom of the list
-
This is a stupid argument, because if you have a shite team that’s even more reason to bring in a manager that isn’t trying to reinvent football. Why the fuck are we asking a low quality squad to play high quality football? Worse squads than ours have stayed up, just by applying a modicum of common sense. Something which sadly Southampton FC has lacked for a long fucking time
-
I’d even take fat Sam at this point
-
Agree. Naive. Wonder if Martin told them to be more progressive or if it was just emotions.
-
Good finish today and very happy to see him working harder. Good lad
-
Tbf, we sell out most weeks. Our support is actually very solid. Especially last few years. I can only imagine how good it would be if we actually had something to cheer about.
-
Pochettino couldn’t speak English and he turned the club around completely.
-
Agreed Derry. Spot on. Suicidal to go into the Leicester game with this manager imo. We need someone that can play to the strength of the squad we have, not some imagined Man City possession style. Mind you… I’m not actually sure what those strengths are. So maybe we need a Moyes or someone pragmatic who will set us up to be hard to beat. I believe this is why we opted for the high press football of Hasenhuttl originally. To disrupt the opposition seems an easier strategy than trying to use a style that requires 100mil players. Not sure where we go from here really.
-
Problem is, the club isn’t learning from its mistakes. Our recruitment has barely improved us.. again. How are we getting it so spectacularly wrong every window? The club are lucky that Dibling has broken through when he has, or we would genuinely have zero goal threat at all. (Not helped by the ridiculous tactics we employ). I really hope it doesn’t turn toxic and people just stick with it. Even if it is shit. Won’t help matters at this point
-
We also attacked on the counter. There were multiple times we actually had more people in the opposition half than the opposition. This must never EVER be allowed. We need to pass it around a few hundred times and let them get 11 men behind the ball. Or how will we sleep at night
-
Surely we can find owners that aren’t skint / stupid / a criminal. Every other premier league club seems to have done it. People are still interested in Everton with hundreds of millions of debt. Even fucking Bournemouth have money. Why are we the only ones that seem to get purchased by absolute dossers? (since Liebherr sadly passed)
-
Agreed. It was fucking stupid. If he wanted to go 2 up top, we’d have been better off putting Archer and Stewart up top as big man / little man than whatever the fuck that was. Plus he left out all of our “press resistant” players against a high pressing side. Fucking appalling management tbh. How do we keep appointing people with such bad tactical acumen? Before the game almost every fan knew that line up was a joke
-
Problem is, SR’s previous bad decisions have absolutely fucked us. From the outside looking in, we look fucking mental. (We do from the inside, too). We would never be able to attract a Hasenhuttl type appointment with these utter charlatans running the club.
-
Yep, our recruitment is consistently awful. Fernandes and ramsdale are good buys. THB is good and has a lot of potential, despite his slow start to the season. Apart from that we’ve signed duff after duff after duff. Then appointed the least pragmatic manager in the history of football. Bad players, and a coach that doesn’t play to their strengths. Fucking genius. Well done guys
-
Get him out. Fucking abysmal set up. Why hasn’t he made a change? suicide
-
This formation is awful. Aimless, no target. Never gonna score like this
-
Largely because he was still being paid unbelievable wedge by Chelsea for many months. Although in all honesty, his record isn’t that much different than Martin’s. So I don’t think this would be a worthwhile swap. I think we are probably better off with Martin than potter
-
Get him in the dugout not the studio
-
Tbh Ipswich recruitment (players & manager) are making our owners look like absolute idiots atm.
-
Time to sound the Tall Paul klaxon for me. Give archer some minutes but worth seeing what he can do. Tell Fraser and dibling to put crosses in to him.
-
Yeah, always liked him. Worked hard and held it up well. For all the stick he got on here, he always tried hard and that’s more than can be said of a lot of players over the years. I also wish him well, but I also thought we’d actually replace him. Going into the season without a target man is actually mental
-
Forwards are a huge problem. But so is defending like school boys. If we don’t have the forward players to outscore teams, we need to bring in a defensively solid coach to stop us leaking as many goals. Can’t be shite at both ends.
-
They were much better than us for 80% of the game. At home. His subs then made us even worse. So I’m not sure yesterday is any strong defence of Martin, tbh.
-
Essentially we don’t seem to play the tactics that will allow him to flourish, which is why it was a strange signing. We played our best football with Che as a target man allowing us to get our crab football further up the pitch. None of the tactics we are employing are getting the best out of any of the squad tbh.
