So you admit that was two games in two weeks then ? You can make all the excuses you like we were rubbish at home-I don't know why people don't accept that. Yes we were considerably better away and it was brilliant to get to a cup final and Claude and the team have rightly received lots of plaudits for that . I went to sixteen home league games saw 4 wins and 10 saints goals-that's crap. I have 3 season tickets and have had at least one season ticket uninterrupted since either 1992 or 1994 (cant remember) as a bit of background-I feel I'm entitled to my view. I don't know why people cant accept there were some good bits and some bad bits -its people like you who take it as a personal insult if someone has a different point of view. I'm happy to give praise where it due but none is coming from me for our home league form.

No I hadn't read that far back, I was merely pointing out even without the usual excuses ,Europa Commitments ,Injuries etc we didn't fair that much better. Of course we would have done better if VVD had not been injured. Although in my opinion that alone wouldn't have solved the main problems, which I see as ponderous play, not moving the ball quickly enough , failure to commit midfielders ahead of play/into the box which leads to a lack of goals. I'm sure he would have saved a few from being conceded and probably scored a few too but the underlying problems would remain.

The 7 or so premier league matches when Fonte and VVD were available and we were out of Europe we gained 7 points including those two brilliant home performances against Spurs and West Brom over Christmas which followed a 2 week rest.

I think you are being a bit harsh there. His comment was because United were so poor it was a very disappointing performance. Not saying I necessarily agree about how good/bad we were but United were atrocious by their standards so in the context of opportunities to beat United and have our first win against a top 6 side this season it was very disappointing. If you think that was a good United performance I suggest you read Yoshida's post match comments when he echoes that sentiment and says you could tell that United didn't want to be there and weren't interested especially Bally! Also Targett says in his post match interview that he wasted good opportunities to deliver crosses. Though I cant remember any incidents obviously he does, so again Id say its fair comment if the player says the same. I thought Pied was good and made some good runs particularly when slipped in by Tadic inside the fullback, cant remember if he shot or crossed but the run and pass were very good. It was an example of something we don't do often enough. Gary Neville did a very interesting piece after our recent draw at Anfield about how Liverpool work the ball wide but then because no-one is making runs from deep and getting ahead of the ball carrier they run out of options, the ball end ups getting passed inside and ends back with a deep lying midfielder or central defender. I thought his analysis was equally apt for us, however that run from Pied demonstrated the sort of runs our wide players should be making and if they were made more often would definitely increase our chances of scoring.

This is not an unreasonable point of view and I sway between go now and giving him another season. However I think he only knows how to play one way and I don't see the entertainment value going up. I do think the next two matches could be crucial for him-6 points I think the board will keep him, two losses I think he'll go. The only caveat to that would be if the tales of dressing room unrest are true and significant he might not be able to save his job no matter what happens tonight and Sunday. I wouldn't be sad to see him go, if he stays it just a bit meh combined with wait and see.

Thanks . If we are minus 3 now- I guess we have a chance to equal that if not better it. However if we ended up on a minus goal difference at home for the season , for the first time in 8 years presumably ,it would be a stat that backs up how I feel about our home performances.

I didn't realise we had a negative goal difference at home , has that happened in other seasons recently? I suppose it must have been tight that first season back.

No matter how poor the entertainment it has never crossed my mind not to renew my 3. I've had a season ticket without fail every season since 1994. Every STH I know probably about 25-30 have also renewed but there aren't any Puel fans amongst them. Quite a few just haven't bothered going to the last few games but they still have renewed. More importantly anyone know what's going on with h the car parking particularly car park K?

With a far inferior squad he's got the same number of points as Puel. If matching Bournemouth is now considered our benchmark for a successful season I think Les should let us know.

So you are now admitting that your earlier post that you had first hand experience of Saints fans disliking Puel purely because he is French ,and they were by implication rascists , is indeed a complete lie. However you have met Saints fans who wondered whether he had the correct experience in a top European league to manage Saints. You couldn't make it up.

The first 30 minutes we had something like 35% possession- the last 15 minutes of the first half were decent, but apart from that I thought we were poor.

The players aren't the problem it's the tactics.You could give him all the pre-seasons in the world he'd still be the wrong choice if he didn't change the way we play. 17 goals at home all season in the league -six of those in two games- take those out that's 11 in 15. Failed to score in 4 out of our last 5 home matches. It's ponderous and turgid rubbish. No midfielders commit forward beyond the front man, it's dire to watch. Players are unhappy, majority of fans are far from convinced,the board lack leadership so who knows what will happen. But I for one won't lose any sleep if he goes. I've said all season I'd make my judgement after the last game but I've decided to change my mind , he should go.
