I don't think he's saying that - but even with the help of seeing how players are doing, he can't name one player. It is extremely disappointing, and shit business, but it's not going to be the thing that costs us promotion (in fact signing a player to play ahead of AA could have in fact cost us promotion as he's been great) .
-
It's alright, your prescient enough to predict that this one failed signing will cost us promotion, but even with hindsight you can't name a player you'd rather have 🤣🤣🤣
-
Yeah, nice one. Really proving your point there.
-
It's fine, let's wait for @AlexLaw76 to come up with a list of the strikers that he'd have signed instead. Even with hindsight I think he'll struggle.
-
Fucking hell, we have some fannies on here. The reality is that we won't get automatic promotion because Leicester and Ipswich are putting up near unprecedented results, not because we don't have a back up striker (and he would be backup as we have AA, who has more goal involvements than any other player in the league (18 in 22 games)). By comparison, Piroe has 9 in 22 games in a better attacking team.
-
And? Was still a huge risk. Worked out for us, didn't work out for Villa or Wham.

Strange post - what does a fit and firing Martin have to do with it? The choice wasn't between having a fit and firing Stewart and a not fit and firing Stewart, it was between Stewart and someone else (not Piroe though, as said by Martin prior to him going to Leeds he was too similar to AA - and shitter by the looks of the things this season). If we'd have sold Adams in the Summer as well, like I said we should have, we'd have picked up an additional striker so that wouldn't be the situation.
-
Ings was a massive fucking risk as well, as big as Stewart. You win some, you lose some when you sign injury prone players.
-
Disappointing, but not sure it would have made any difference to us this season tbf. We have the second top scorer in the division, and we tend to play with 1 striker, so not really sure he'd have come in anyway without upsetting the balance. Waste of money, yes, but not convinced this decision has cost us promotion.
-
Personally I see it as an investment - and it certainly seems to have been that so far, for sure.
-
Forgotten what losing is like tbh. No fine margins atm, top 2 are done and we'll get playoffs. Just love to see the entitled moan that we're not spunking over all and sundrie, and playing like 1970s Brazil.
-
I think just maintain the current ratio.
-
I really hope we stay unbeaten, but play really fucking boring football. Be interesting to see what you lot do in that situation.
-
Well, they have a 25 year guarantee, so let's see. TBH at the moment we're looking at a 6 year ROI, so happy with how it is going.
-
So glad we're not on oil!! Luckily ours are on our tractor stores roof, so we don't have to deal with that (ignore the mess in the garden - half way through finishing it):
-
Large old inefficient farmhouse funnily enough - about £4k on gas 😒 - but can't do anything about that.
-
£17k - battery should have a 10 year life and panels 25 years.

Obviously it feels like we're never going to really see our power bills reduce, so I'm interested in what people have been doing to save energy? Last Summer we put in 8kw of solar panels and a 10kw battery, and I've been tracking the power savings - over the last 12 months we have saved £2900 in electricity. We decided to put these in prior to the COLC, but it has certainly been a welcome saving (our overall domestic bills should have been around £7500 for this past year). I have also been thinking of getting a wind turbine - although the up-front cost of those is very high (and they don't half make some noise).
-
I'm not sure why you think our team is that good. We were fucking awful last season, and our squad is significantly weaker than the one we had then. I think you may be vastly over-rating the quality of our team. And we're 4th in the League, 6 points clear of 7th. We're not going to get top 2, and to be fair, we shouldn't want to - this team is not good enough to be promoted back to the Prem. Would you prefer we were playing entertaining football, but potentially sitting outside the playoffs? One of the reasons we've been picking up points is due to the fact that we're conceding far less goals, because we're less wide open. You increase the openness, we're likely to concede more.

I'll stick to milking your Mum thank you very much.

Saints fans 2022-2023: I don't care how we play, I just want to win. Fuck it, I'd even take Sam Allardyce. Saints fans 2023-2024, after 13 games unbeaten: Our play and performances aren't good enough, despite the results. Get Martin out. "Hallelujah Noel, be it heaven or hell, the Christmas you get you deserve"
-
Why do we need a potent forward? You wouldn't play him ahead of AA?
-
Think we'll lose this one.

Been a while since last "where are they now (posters)" thread?

All these old posters sound great. I feel very sad that I wasn't part of the halcyon years of the forum, and now I'm just left with you fucking losers. -
Tbf, ULEZ and protests are a good thing. You just wait until you have something that you're passionate about enough to protest against. Like raping women, or killing thousands of innocent children. Or destroying the planet for our children. But yes, apart from those things, London is a monumental shit hole.
