  1. So far this season, Spurs have the highest possession at 68.7%, closely followed by RM's Saints at 68%. Third place goes to Man City with only 64.7% (always knew RM was the better manager).
  2. We had the highest possession in the championship last season at 65.5% average, followed by Leicester at 61.6%. Pretty good stats, looking good, not worried.
  3. Will be more fun than when we'll face Man City. I imagine it'll be like Rishi Sunak going in the ring against a prime Mike Tyson.
  4. I know most of you rate RM highly, but personally, all this possession for possession's sake is utter shite.
  5. Footybite or Fawanews for streams
  6. An actual Premier League-level goalkeeper playing for us feels surreal. I can imagine the lads scoring at will against the likes of Baz and Lumely, now they'll get some proper shot training.
  7. Absolutely love this! A GK who's actually worthy of the level we're playing at.
  8. That was truly shocking. He might even be worse than Baz.
  9. Great no2 for when Baz returns.
  10. One is an average goalkeeper, and the other is reminiscent of the outfielder who takes over if your keeper is sent off and you're out of subs.
  11. I'd start him ahead of Bazunu any day of the week.
  12. Thought he did some decent damage control. Could have been a lot worse than just one nil.
  13. 62% possession and fuck all to show for it. Peak Martin ball
  14. That’s got to be one of the worst injury records for a goalkeeper?. So if we sign him, we’re looking at McCarthy or Baz starting in at least half our games—basically putting us right back to square one.
  15. Bazunu: Worst shot stopper on PL record in 22/23. Before his injury he was on track to achieve the same 'feat' in the Championship. Clearly not a natural keeper, he played outfield until late in his development, no genuine howlers just consistently poor shot-stopping (i.e. goalkeeping 101). Lumley: Worst shot stopper in the championship 22/23 out of 55 keepers! Generally quite shite, it’s baffling why we signed him. McCarthy: Not been the same since we got arse raped 0-9 against Man United. Average shot stopper, awful on his feet. We actually play really decent footy, why the fuck can't we find a competent goalkeeper?
  16. Angus Gunn, McCarthy and Bazunu. When is the last time we've had a proper goalkeeper? It'll backfire on us again this season, McCarthy or Baz same end result.
  17. Decent effort but if the club doesn't sign a new keeper we will go down again.
  18. Archer what was that
  19. I completely agree with you. Shot-stopping is the most basic attribute of goalkeeping. If we have a player with the shot-stopping proficiency of a Sunday league player, it doesn't matter if he's like Messi when on the ball. I think the club has handled our outfield signings quite well, but it's puzzling why we can't seem to get our goalkeeping situation right, it's been like this for years. McCarthy haven't seemed right since he let those 9 goals in against Man Utd. Same could be said for Angus Gunn.
  20. McC is worse than Bazunu at everything else but shot-stopping, and that isn't saying much considering how low the bar was to begin with.
  21. For sure, it cannot be stressed enough how important the GK position is. In our relegation season, the three teams that got relegated were also the teams with the worst goalkeepers, measured by xG (most goals let in that should have been saved). These goalkeepers were Bazunu, Ward (Leicester), and Meslier (Leeds). Bazunu, in fact, broke the record for the worst xG recorded in the Premier League since they started recording this stat.
  22. The most shocking part about that penalty was that they sent it to the ref to review. Even with a strong England bias, you could at most argue for a soft and marginal penalty. I thought these weren't supposed to go to review unless it was a clear error? If this sets the standard for today's refereeing, we'd be seeing 10 penalties a game.
  23. If we were the Dutch, we'd be raging at the referee. Even with my England bias, he seemed blatantly one-sided. I laughed my arse off when Van Dijk got booked for correctly pointing out that it was a corner kick.
  24. Southgate’s murder ball will sort out the Dutch.
  25. An England vs France final would truly be a crime against football.
