Fair enough...Mourinho does of course know his stuff... I just can't see Lloyd James going into this season being first choice for a centre mifield spot i'm afraid (and the Hearts game backs that up) in fact i suspect signings will be made which will push him further down that pecking order as well. As such having just played a full season in the position this makes him a pretty good back up for the position...and also allows us the opportunity to start bedding him into the position he will ultimately end up playing in, centre midfield. Cover for two positions he can playcomfortably...certainly not distorting the team though as he won't be first choice centre mid... Aside from all this Ifill doesn't want to come to Saints to play second fiddle to another player at this stage in his career i'm sure so it's a complete non starter...

A few more than 19 perhaps...i really don't see the need for two right backs though... We know that Lloyd James can fill in if Murty has a tweak...if it's longer term we get a loan in...this idea that Lloyd James will now be pushing into central midfield full time is a little flight of fancy to my mind...i'd be impressed if he made twenty midfield appearances this season... It's only really a "damn" if Pardew was trying to sign him though isn't it really? Doesn't exactly fit in with the remit of trying to get in Championship quality players does it? Harding does however...thus we signed him...
