  1. Fair enough; the problem I had was that in his first few posts in this thread he came across like so many of the ITK buffoons we've suffered over the past 18 months or so. That didn't exactly invite credence. Once he started posting in something other than riddles hearing him out became a whole lot easier!
  2. Don't remember that one at all - were there any other words?
  3. Not that surprising really - it was wrapped up in all the other gumph about late-night drinking and junior employee sacking. Also, Long Shot had hardly did himself any favours in terms of credibility with his first posts on the thread. As you know who he is, you'll have a far better idea than I or most other posters do as to whether his statement about the overdraft increase is true or not. Either way, how much does it have to do with Wilde? Does he have any real influence on what happens? I'd rather assumed that he doesn't, but I could be wrong about that.
  4. Actually, we played Leeds away the following Saturday, and hammered them 3-0. I agree with the last part of your post though.
  5. Wow! I love this forum - a thread starts about Glenn Hoddle and, in the blink of an eye, it's all about JD Salinger and real/fake films. How can anybody quibble with the £5 membership fee? Do you think the chap who wrote a review of the fake film actually bought a copy? I'm still chuckling at the thought of that!
  6. Don't be so precious for god's sake. You started this thread with a post which meant pretty much nothing, but hinted at a lot more. You were questioned about it (and mocked as well by some, but what the hell would you expect?) and, bit by bit, you have given us the full shebang. Oh, and a few more hints about other things too. Anyway, a major point in the initial story is that a junior employee of SLH/SFC got sacked. As WSS points out above, this in itself had nothing to do with Wilde. The only area where you can condemn Wilde's behaviour is IF Burley was drinking with him until 5am on the day of a match. Your message, such as it was, hasn't been lost among the insults - you only revealed it in pieces when asked to expand on the original riddles. And, now you've done so, it turns out it's not much of a message anyway.
  7. A late-night drinking session with the SFC chairman (please see other thread for details).
  8. OK, that's not cryptic, though your earlier posts were. I have no idea whether the whole thing is true or not but, if it is, then I'd certainly be far from impressed. The manager shouldn't be up till 5 drinking on the morning of a match, the chairman shouldn't be encouraging him to do so. If Wilde wants to get hammered before a match fair enough; he has nothing to do with what happens on the pitch; this can hardly be said for the manager. So why was said junior employee sacked? Did he say something out of order, or did he hear something he shouldn't have? Either way, as others have said, he would surely be able to claim unfair dismissal - did he do so? Given that this is an allegation from a single, anonymous source on an internet forum, I won't be rushing over the Itchen bridge to St Mary's to demand justice just yet.
  9. Whistle blower? As far as I'm aware that phrase is normally used to refer to a person who puts important information in the public domain which would otherwise be kept hidden, often at some personal risk. What have you done? Ah yes, you've posted cryptic comments on an internet forum. You've said nothing; you've blown no whistle. I said this earlier but, at the risk of being repetitive: if you have something to say, say it. Make your accusation, whatever it may be, and make it clearly. If you won't do that, why should anybody give you any credence?
  10. A fair point. Actually, I have it on very good authority that Wilde and Crouch argued over this very point - Wilde wanted to sack the junior employee, Crouch wanted to kill him. Eventually they reached a compromise - Wilde sacked him and Crouch killed him. Obviously my sources are far too imaginary to be revealed on here.
  11. Actually, I'd always assumed that non-execs don't receive pay at football clubs because they're perceived to be doing it for the love of the club rather than for their own benefit. In which case it's hardly surprising that Dulieu was paid, as he was hardly doing the job for love. More to the point there is why he was appointed chairman in the first place, though that's hardly relevant now! We need a chief exec or equivalent, as does any business. Whether that person should also be chairman is another matter; personally I'd say not as it's poor business practice to do things that way. Incidentally, I've seen Andrew Cowen described as both a non-exec director and as managing director, which seems more than a little contradictory to me. We seem to have drifted a long way from the thread topic here, though...
  12. Why the hell don't you just tell us what you're on about? I really can't be arsed with riddles. If you know something, spit it out; if you can't or won't do that, stop with all the hinting.
  13. I had to read that several times to be certain but yes - it seems that miracles can happen!
  14. After last night the team have found the right route, can all surge really strongly now.
  15. In business, non-executive directors are normally paid; in football they generally aren't (Ken Dulieu being a recent exception to this rule). So, as Lowe has executive duties, he'll be paid for performing them. Wilde has none, so I wouldn't expect him to be paid. I've no idea whether or not this is the case, it's just what I'd expect. But we do seem to be moving from a question about whether or not Wilde receives a salary to an assumption that he does.
  16. Nail-chewing stuff listening to the radio - only got the second half, did Skacel play the whole game at left back with Mills at left wing(ish)? Was rather surprised at that. Whatever, as others have said, I'd have taken a point very happily before the game. They clearly had us under a great deal of pressure pretty much throughout the second half, but we didn't buckle and also created a few chances of our own on the break. Well played, boys.
  17. My, but I've laughed so much at this thread - if someone could pick me up off the floor I'd be most grateful...
  18. But how the hell can they not know their roles at corners (or free kicks)? It beggars belief that this could be the case so far into the season.
  19. I'm sure he'll be able to hold his head up (joke for the more oldie posters there - sorry).
  20. It seems to me that what we have here is the old proverb/chestnut/whatever about putting the cart before the horse. Maybe that one's been forgotten. But, if Window Cleaner's suggestion that most UI posters are skates is true, surely Nick would have done better with something like 'You shouldn't start thinking about what you'll leave to your children until your sister's of child-bearing age'. I think that would get the message across.
  21. If it's anything like the ones you did for S4E back in the day, then they bloody well should want to use it.
  22. I think that's P*mpey's plan B for when that nice Mr Gaydamak takes what's left of his money away...
  23. Sure is, and there's even a football angle - Gil Scott Heron's father played for Celtic. No, I'm not making this up...
  24. And SLH board members £10,000 each...
  25. Can't have too many Woolston Ferry threads...
