Alan 'Gordon' Bennett, comfortably the worst debut since Ali Dyer.

We seem to have sent loans to Swindon in recent years. I think he'd get proper game time there, perhaps less so at Reading. He is a big lad with decent skill. He will bulk out and hopefully his positional sense will improve. Agree with FF, he could be a very handy striker for us but needs game time.

Nope he would have been the new Jack Cork, not quite good enough to get in our first XI.

I think he showed a few things that given a pre-season he could be a useful squad player for us. The Newcastle game where he was deployed as a second striker paid dividends. If he is not too expensive I think he'd be a solid addition.

I'd add Beattie to that list.

I read on one of the Spurs sites that he has a buyout clause of around £8m. I don't think the club are adverse to bringing in a blend of players, some of whom will not have a great resale value.

In this circumstance it could work better with Koeman. I am sure the Feyenoord / Clasie reps would be more impressed by Dutch legend Koeman than Reed / Wilson.

I enjoyed the Les reed interview. He came across s a very genuine fella who clearly gives a ****. I agree with Pastor above, for the next few years we will be an attractive club for anyone wanting to move to a top 4 club but not go through their woeful youth systems. The challenge for us will be to continue to advance up the table and improve the squad year on year until we can eventually break the glass ceiling.
