Guly pretty much confirms he is leaving Saints this summer
Colinjb replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Probably, but there's nothing to say that picture wasn't taken at another time, or that Rickie was in Winchester away from the other players for the entire evening. -
Osvaldo, has to be. Adam has shown signs of wonderful control and the Hull goal was the moment when everything came together. Bad defending at the end put the finish on a plate for him... not wishing to diminish it at all but the Hull defence had surrendered by then. Osvaldo's goal was however a moment of sheer, staggering incredulity. He toyed with the defence of the best squad in the country and likely champions before making them look entirely ridiculous. The way he left Pantilimon helpless was a wonder.

The goal against Notts County, the header at the Ricoh arena to finally give me bragging rights over my neighbours, the curler against Blackpool, his header v Middlesbrough. Will be sorry to see him go but grateful for the many good memories. Hope he finds a club quickly. -
Seriously? Some people... Were the scarves a special edition?

Shouldn't be a surprise that he will come back, he's not impressing at Juventus and is still under contract.

YES! YES! YES! Get in there!

Sam Gallagher really should have put us 1-0 up, Swansea have missed chances too though, 0-0 is ok. Odd to feel so relaxed when a match is on.
-
Playing well here, keeping possession and looking dangerous. Swansea are looking primed to hit us on the break though.

No, it's saying that 70% have a preference (not dislike for anything, but a preference) for a style other then stripes. In the same way that 81.7% would prefer anything other then mainly red.
-
The feeling of many rather then the individual will be interesting though, particularly after two years away in the mainly red creations.

Their recent campaign advertising their breakfast bacon rolls would indicate a shift to actively move into that market. Slightly contradictory.

Good man. I shall eagerly await it's download.

Relax, there will be beer, fish and chips and saints DVD's. Bed time will be a little awkward.... but hey, we are both mature adults....

Just created one in another thread mate.

The poll to go with the other thread... Some pictorial reminders of the kits:

It tells me that I cannot rely on a consistency of offering in Subway outlets. As such I will be less likely to use them as a result.

The away have essentially sold out now. You are laughing if you want a home shirt, all sizes available but sadly the aways are a no.

So infuriating when children repeat the mistakes of their parents. Pray that her daughter breaks this terrible cycle.

The vegetables. .. alongside the obvious chicken. Chicken is also damn good if pan fried or grilled. For more information consult your nearest KFC.

What is the weirdest own goal scored at a Saints game?
Colinjb replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
I'm going to suggest Coleman from the weekend. Rather then a fumbling stretch or slice it was simply a perfectly placed downward header into the far corner of his own net. Truly incredible. -
No. It's demeaning if you do roll over, let the players go cheaply. Aside from our spell in administration we have not at any point done that. Under Lowe Walcott commanded a world record fee for a player of his age. Under Cortese AOC went for a massive up front fee for a player who had only ever performed in League 1. How else are we meant to progress to any kind of parity with the bigger teams unless we generate these players in the first place? It's not like they are being handed to bigger clubs on a silver platter. They must pay. Equally to have the players of this type in the first place we couldn't afford to have them unless they are self generated. The Academy is the jewel in our crown and our best hope to gain ground on the bigger sides. Similar to how Atletico Madrid have made strides in Spain, If we must sell then the not inconsiderable resources recouped can be intelligently invested. (Which is where for me Lowe eventually failed.) Again, I think this may be a mentality difference between us, your glass half empty approach clashing with the glass half full of others.

In the lower leagues it helped us progress, in the premier league the team hasn't been dismantled yet. Even then it helps to full the gaps should they become apparent. There is a certain degree of cyclic reasoning with it but in our case it is clear that in a playing, reputational and financial sense it is extremely beneficial to us. There are reasons why other clubs envy it. If the main frustration is that the players coming through are of such good quality then bigger names want to buy them then as crosses to bare go it's an extremely complimentary one. We are doing something very right and should cherish it.

Would we be better off or even in the same position without it?
