  1. Might be worth the day out to support the local lads, shades of the JPT final.
  2. A good point, but equally, not exactly the type of sporting director who will promote a self sustainable club. Actually doing that while making progress will require some genuine nous.
  3. No chance of misinterpreting that at least!
  4. He shows flashes of ability at times but at his age you would hope to see some signs of consistent composure, decision making and command of his area. Sadly I don't believe he is good enough to even be our back-up.
  5. A great way to reward the loyal away contingent. Bravo to the club.
  6. City's first fluid move of the game. Silva offside in the build-up. 2-1
  7. Because the away kit is better.
  8. Had no expectations today other then wanting to see a positive display. So far so excellent, that equaliser was more then deserved.
  9. Compared to some of our previous players, he most certainly is! Where's Tommy Forecast now?
  10. A pound on Balthazar King @ 18/1.
  11. Sorry, but those two put together did make me chuckle!
  12. Was the new ground already owned by the club?
  13. Certainly doesn't feel like five years.... time really does fly when you are enjoying it! Hope the next five continue in the same vein.
  14. Quite subtle and plausable as these things go.
  15. Chatting to a group of people who went corporate on getting back to Winchester on Saturday evening it seems there was more then just that going on, a definite push has been made to local businesses to get them in, the club are now being far more accommodating.
  16. Without question Adam. Not to undersell the contribution of many others but he has been astonishingly good.
  17. I was more referring to the boxes. Just behind where I sit there were only a couple unoccupied. Compared that to the one that was usually used by the WAG's which was the only one in consistent use until recently.
  18. Interesting comment on the shortfall coming from spaces in the executive area from Steve, it appeared to me that there while certainly not being 100% full there was a vastly increased take up of seats up there for the Newcastle game.
  19. Purely on the basis that football is inhabited by competitive and ambitious people, yep. Most professionals will not want to be at a club that is just surviving, there will need to be a drive and desire to be as good as we can be within the means we have imposed. Ralph Krueger's big challenge will be to get that balance right, in an environment when you are competing with organisations who will be looking to circumvent financial fair play, rather then embrace it then it could be impossible.
  20. Nonetheless it did require outlay (let's face it, that was clear as day given how quickly we rebuilt after administration) to get us here in the first place. It seems to me at least that Cortese wanted us to keep pushing up on the back of investment from the family before stabilising at as high a level as possible. Be it through an appreciation that we have realistically hit a glass ceiling or through simple lack of desire to sink any further millions in we are now appearing to be moving away from this. Consolidation makes a lot of sense right now to ensure that we are stable going forward but treading water in football can be very unsatisfying in the context of the recent good times we've had.
  21. This redirection to the apps store has begun happening on my work phone (iPhone 5.) Only when using Saintsweb, it takes me to the store to download a game or similar. Quite annoying.
  22. Not too bad overall. The transfer fees already owed are a concern but the value of the playing staff should offset them should the sh*t hit the fan. There does appear to be a shift in income emphasis, trying to make the club more self reliant. The hospitality boxes at the Newcastle game appeared to be nearly 90% taken, a stark contrast to earlier in the season. The intention is clearly for us to be self sufficient away from the Leibherr's fortunes and now steps can be taken to make that happen. The lasting legacy of the academy and infrastructure is a wonderful gift to behold. (Worth noting that the transfer fees owed would have been mostly offset by the increase in academy project spend..... I wonder how big a point of contention that was?)
  23. His fitness is astonishing, never have any concerns when he comes off early as he clearly works his damnedest to cover every blade of grass.
  24. Epic stuff today. The complete performance. Best of the season so far. Buzzing right now!
  25. Oh good..... Asda.
