  1. So if the Villa game had gone to plan then?
  2. Hadn't thought of it like that... like it!
  3. At the risk of being a pedantic bastard, I was under the impression you need a TV license to allow use of iPlayer... Be careful chap. Edit: Ah! No, relax!!
  4. Give it to Monk, he actually has knowledge. Cheers though.
  5. Ooooooo, nomination!
  6. Not yet. Statistically we are back where we were now after we got to the cup final and last season was our highest average ever with the exception of the season after the cup final. And yes, most people use the internet but not everyone does for match streaming, it surely isn't too far fetched that those who are more fanatical (those who use a football forum) would discuss it!
  7. Our crowds are as good now as they have ever been at St Mary's. Average crowds of 30,600 were the norm last time we were in the premier league and are back now.... I don't believe there is an issue. We are probably at the upper current limit of what our fanbase current is. The stadium is essentially full for all midsize games, the more popular teams are selling out. Those who want to go are going. I do not see an issue. A football club internet forum will naturally attract discussion for how those who use the internet can watch the team play!
  8. I think the key point here for many is watch 'every' game live. The away ones alongside the home. Knowing there are options to see these matches when they are quite readily selling out (or for those who simply don't want to trek a ten hour round trip to Newcastle) is just as relevant as those who would take the online viewing option rather then attending home games.
  9. Just love how they ignored the bizarre posts and just discussed the bare point. The disciples of the Jonas brothers could teach a few on here a thing or two.
  10. The way Fernandes behaves surely Vegas would be a better template?
  11. Their are only a finite number of spaces that clubs are aiming for, we can't all make it.
  12. Having been someone who never went along with that concept... sure, why not. Personally I've always felt that St Mary's is just right for us, it can be made more attractive/appealling without the need for expansion.
  13. Similar things would have been said with us moving from the Dell to St Mary's yet we did that on the back of several years of full houses. They are obviously doing this looking to the future in the hope they can grow their fan-base but the quote that came out of Fernandes mouth along the lines of 'We are building homes as part of the complex and hope that some of those will become hoops' shows a little naivety, those who are inclined to buy season tickets and attend are usually hard-wired to the teams they follow. It will take a long, long time for them to grow to a 40,000 every week fan-base unless the ticket prices are extremely low.... especially when you consider that they struggled to break 14,000 at each home game until they mounted a promotion push.
  14. Fair enough for me. It provides a barrier between Pochettino and the media, the only retort they have is a desire for him to communicate in our language when he is most comfortable in his mother tongue.... Why should he? For the benefit of an establishment that would twist his words against him should it serve their ends? Carry on Mauricio.
  15. Not a Saints memory but that free kick v the Argies in 2002. Magic. If only he had stayed to help us get back up in 2005. He would have torn up the Championship.
  16. In the current SaintsWeb environment I do like your angle.
  17. Anyone know what happened to those three?
  18. No, it would be like using an atomic device to swat a gnat. Actually, could be amusing.
  19. Goals per premier league game under Adkins: 1.36 Goals per premier league game under Pochettino: 1.23 Yes, I actually just worked that out... not hugely different but we scored per game under Nigel. Our goals against column on the other hand!
  20. ...And with a tactical style that forces the opposing defenders deeper leaving him with less space to exploit. It's part of the reason we are not as free scoring as we were under Nigel Adkins, it'll be tough to any striker in our system.
  21. I can't agree Shurlock. The 2-2 was a little sore but as soon as it became clear that they prized it as a massive glory in light of their own relegation and our promotion I got over it very rapidly. They had lost all perspective. Today we showed how behind their club is on as core a basis as possible, foundation , infrastructure and future. This is a seriously sweet moment.
  22. Reports on the Skate forum that there was a little fighting on the way from the Stadium to Southampton Central. Anyone here effected?
  23. The first time he has ever resorted to understatement!
