  1. Away to Hull
  2. As far as I can tell.... it's actually a glitch.
  3. When AOC left it was after a long protracted spell of negotiation which let to him finally declaring he wished to leave. It was widely declared at the time that Arsenal had failed to meet our demands for him and he was only permitted to leave after Cortese squeezed the 12 million (rising to 15 million) fee from them. At no point did the then 17 year old walk away. - He couldn't, he was under contract. The Walcott situation was entirely different as he was under the 17 year old deadline that you need to cross before being a contracted pro. Curiously, that avoided tribunal as Arsenal agreed the fee of 5mill rising to 12 mill based on clauses, presumably out of some kind of professional respect.
  4. No, it's under 17 when they cannot. Theo Walcott signed his first full binding pro-contract just after he joined Arsenal and turned 17. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/4614538.stm
  5. He is under contract, just a limited one. As for the trbunal, it's 7 years down the line from Theo Walcott moving for 12 million and Alex raised the same sum in league 1. Fully expect this to be a mountain from a molehill though.
  6. Just been informed of this, as i'm in home office today i've checked and yes, it's totally free and currently downloading. Not sure how long this will be on for so fill your boots guys!
  7. Assuming the worst then...... We're in the money!!!! Ker-ching!!!! etc
  8. It's fairly easy to follow the team from Coventry. I really do admire the guys who stick with it abroad, not so much in the EU as the TV rights are rather exhaustive - You would never miss a game in somewhere like Malta, but in the more far flung areas.
  9. Just had similar to the news above on SSN who read it in the sun.... Ramirez set to snub interest from Italy after expressing a desire to play a part at the club that had faith in him. Or words to that effect.
  10. Chris Baird also released. He really was a big loss when we lost him.
  11. Now, the black away kit remains a personal favourite. I thought it was just right apart from the material which felt a bit cheap... like most of the Umbro kits we have had. The yellow kit, for me the aap3 logo is great on that one because it is so unobtrusive. In terms of fit and quality that's probably the best we have had over the last two years. Agree with the small sponsors on the Sash kit. The 'Saints foundation' logos on there for those few game were absolutely fine.
  12. Out of curiosity, do you know if he has purchased a £1000 share in the Skates, as implied by the linked article on the prior page?
  13. That has Birmingham City fuming quite frankly.
  14. Well, that's not how this article has interpreted it... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/cricket/cricket-chief-wants-to-join-forces-with-pompey-1-5161966
  15. He is acting professionally. This is the same professional and carefully maintained facade that helped take us to back to back promotions. Adkins gives the impression of an overly cheerful slightly over the top individual but this is all based on his knowledge of psychology and sports science. He is almost certainly one of the most professional and well considered managers in the modern game.
  16. I have a feeling that Gus Poyet will end up there before the start of the season.
  17. There's a whole lot of non-league out there.
  18. Best: 5. Michael Svensson. Immense. Without him we crumbled. 4. James Beattie. At one point the most exciting young striker in the English game. 3. Morgan Schneiderlin. Along with St Mary's Stadium, the best thing Rupert Lowe ever did for us. 2. Antti Niemi. The best keeper i've had the privilage of watching. 1. Rickie Lambert. Pound for pound the best forward in the country. Honourable mentions to Marians Pahars, Jose Fonte, Dean Richards, Kelvin Davis, Jack Cork and Chris Marsden. Worst: 5. Mikael Nillson. Ordinary, so ordinary. Symptomatic of our then malaise. (See also Wayne Thomas) 4. Bradley Wright-Phillips. Such a waste of that prize winner's money. 3. Kleber Chala. Agustin Delgado's travelling companion. Contributed even less then his countryman. 2. Inigo Idiakez. Past it and then in the play-off semi final blew it. 1. Jelle Van Damme. Signed to fill a desperate need for a young dynamic overlapping full-back. Was a mardy, arrogant son of a b***h. Dishonourable mentions to: Nigel Quashie, Andreas Jakobsson, Ryan Smith, Ryan Bennett (he did improve thank god), Olivier Bernard, Agustin Delgado
  19. Bang goes the thread then. Good luck to Bridgey. Reading the North Stand Chat forum, those Brighton fans really loved him. "Best left back in our history in my opinion." And yes, they really hate Nige'. Move on lads, move on!!
  20. 5. Saints 2-1 Chelsea. The blues were sleeping ahead of other fixtures. But we did them, so satisfying. Champions Of Europe.... Yeah, good for you guys. 4. Saints 3-1 Walsall. It was a bit expected but to finish the job in style was superb. 3. Saints 4-1 Villa, We were back... and proved that we were not the worst in the division. 2. Saints 3-1 Man City, Sureal. Incredible, Wonderful. 1. Saints 4-0 Coventry. Pure elation. For me, at that point it felt as though we had achieved the impossible in back to back promotions. To finish of a season like that in such style, very un-Saintly.
  21. Explain the irony Grey Crab....
  22. Here was the 'best' I came up with incidentally.
  23. Yes... but no money to be made. Makes you wonder, just how little do the shirts really cost to produce and ship to the stadium? Must have made an astonishing margin on them if they can now just be shunted away and written off.
