    Lambert

I'm suggesting there is no point putting square pegs into round holes. Lambert didn't make an impact when he came on on Saturday, if anything our comparative lack of mobility at centre forward from that point onward hindered us. Rodriguez played a key role in crafting Lallana's goal and was then withdrawn. That game wouldn't have and didn't suit Rickie, I back Adkins' call to start Rodriguez having seen the game unfold, even though I was baffled by the decision at the time. Rickie has a massive role to play for us, but not in every game and i'm glad we have an alternative. If Lambert gets injured we are now not as vulnerable as we were last winter, Jay gives us a plan B/alternative plan A when needed.

    Lambert

An absolutely far point. Not enough as we would like. Equally though, what impact did Lambert have when he came on on Saturday? Very little. Tactically West Ham were set up to deal with him. We were beaten on the day by the sharper team.

Going forward we were by far and away the better team in the first half. Defensive blondness killed all that good work stone dead within 4 minutes of the restart. Rodriguez starting looked to be a good move up until that point..... where everyone was wishing we had a better finisher on the field in the first half, despite the fact that Rodriguez' excellent movement was part of the reason we looked the better side. Quite glad we have the two forwards that can offer something different depending on the opposition.
  4. Did he genuinely believe he could replace Alan Shearer?
  5. Without trying to be too dismissive....... Actually, no, sod the pretense... That sounds like utter drivel to me. Rickie Lambert is a model pro and will have known he was on the bench and likely to needed as a substitute. He will have traveled with the squad as normal.
  6. Spoke to one at the back of the Kingsland stand before the Fulham game. An extremely polite and attractive american girl who didn't have a clue what was happening. She had no idea why a load of them had been called down from a London modelling agency to stand in the relative cold selling £3 magazines to 'soccer' fans. How much would it have cost to bus them all in compared to the old hands? Extremely lovely girl though.
  7. My quest to own a replica of every Saints home shirt over my life has now reached it's final two. I am now looking for the following: The 1984-85 Draper Tools sponsored kit, classic early 80's type. The Air Florida sponsored one is also desired (as technically it was worn in my lifetime...... just.) And the following all red with white/black shoulders design from 1985-1987. If anyone knows of any that are available please don't hesitate to let me know. I will make a competitive offer for them.

    Puncheon

And thank heavens for that! He was still contributing well v Man Utd by that point, it was madness to take him off then. But this is a conversation for some other repeated threads I feel.

    Puncheon

Well, it's tricky to when you are substituted consistently on the hour.

    Puncheon

The thing with Puncheon, he has always considered himself to be a premier league player, part of the problem was that he felt the club was beneath him in League 1/The Championship. Now we are up there, he is where he wants to be. No need to leave/throw a strop, just get on with it. Finally he can just get his head down and work without any other rubbish to go with it. Having said that, when does his contract expire?
  11. To echo.... fantastic!
  12. They even redecorated the away dressing room since I did Soccer Aid, interesting pictures. Thankyou.
  13. What do you do for a living out of interest? Other then upping your post count, in recent days, obviously.
  14. Jayradh Rodrijaidiez?
  15. Funny. I just don't need a tablet. I do have a Blackberry Playbook (Which cost a mere £160 pounds) but I only use it to stream television onto the bedroom tele when watching something in bed. For everything else, e-mail, facebook, internet, photographs, videos, apps etc I use my Galaxy S3. I then have a PC at home by my arm chair which I use to play Football Manager, manage my music and f**k about on this website. Spending £300+ on an iPad or equivalent would be a waste of time for me.
  16. Well, I wouldn't have suspected that.
  17. No, I would spend less then 200 pounds on a basic desktop and use the existing screen/mouse/keyboard infrastructure I already have.... and my mobile phone for on the go browsing.
  18. Quite how anyone can justify £300 for a tablet of any type is beyond me. Even £200 is a push. A mobile telephone can do all of the main things they offer, are far more portable and prevent the need to spend yet more cash.
  19. You prat! Wish I had a grand to toy with like that.
  20. Yes. I would not be happy until he was gone. I couldn't have supported an England side managed by him, god knows how I could support a Saints team managed by him.
  21. Fingers crossed this is just an early leak to see how the fanbase would react. Nicola: His reappointment in place of an honourable man like Nigel would make me sick to my very core. I would rather be relegated with our dignity preserved then have that vile scumbag back involved with us.
  22. Selling our soul if true.
  23. They don't seriously expect their 10 point deduction to be deffered for that much longer do they? Top of the table clash for a team who are in effect 22 points off the pace. Bravo.
  24. It can be such a temptation to rush players back, hope we havn't tried to do so and paid for it...
  25. Using your requirement of realistic, that is who we will look for.
