...Are 2-1 v Man Utd at Old Trafford with 5 minutes remaining in Injury time. An Old Trafford seeing 9 internationals in it's first eleven.
That could have been us guys.
No, I grew up in the 90's, the Skates didn't even register then. They have only recently been an irritant, let the f**kers die. It will just reset things to their natural order. Us as the best team on the South Coast and the Skates not even relevant.
I personally cannot imagine anything worse then a stadium that is too big for us. I couldn't stand us playing at an arena like The Riverside, far too big for Boro's needs, even when they were getting to UEFA Cup finals. A period of extended consolidation and full houses at St Mary's in the top flight would be required before I would think it a good idea.
If I remember correctly that news was leaked at a Preston North End fans forum around late November where the chairman stated that Chaplow's transfer had already been agreed. Although it wasn't officially confirmed until just before the window opened.
Quite, the frustration can be understandable though with a player who can produce moments of such sublime beauty and then immediately follow it with a complete clusterf**k!
As said above though, he is a luxury we most certainly can afford!
Probably just symptomatic of the type of player he is. He is frustrating by his very nature, so when things do not go in our favour he will be an easy scapegoat.... even though he is capable of popping up at just the right moment to make a difference.
Puncheon was very similar but with a far-far worse team ethic. Personally I am quite glad Guly had the chance to establish himself in a winning team otherwise I fear he could easily have been pushed out in the same way.
