Football Special

Just back now, exhausting trip , amazing result. chatted to a few Wrexham before the game who were very sound, knowledgeable fans, one old boy approached me coming out of the ground to congratulate us on victory and said we were the best team he'd seen visit the Racecourse for many years. Nice to take the compliments.

I think they have TV slots confirmed already, something like Saturday 5.15 and Sunday 4.30, once tv companies make their choice the rest follows

He'll be back, that was for concussion I think

USA, Canada, they all sound the same dont they

Agree, although let's see how Hull get on tonight, i thought Cov looked like they were low on fuel Friday vs Derby so will give them a chance.

That's interesting also for Larin's chances for the World Cup. Derby also lost Brewster to injury last week for the season so thats three main forward players out for them potentially for Saturday.

I think we'll be pipped to 6th place by Derby, been a rollercoaster of an afternoon

Yeah dreams over now 😞

Derby worry me. Unspectacular but set up very well by Eustace, they'll grind some wins out and are "in the mix" for sure, next two fixtures are absolutely massive in the play off chase

I appreciate it's unlikely but the council should be giving some thought to the open top bus route

As things stand 9 points off 2nd with two games in hand , it's happening

Yeah very steep in my opinion , semi finals involving Man City regularly well under capacity, not surprised they dont want to pay those prices every year

https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/25996254.southampton-fc-post-53-9million-loss-2024-25-financial-accounts/ Some interesting numbers , doesn't seem to make great reading and Alfie mentioned on podcast yesterday unclear if we breached PSR or whatever its called now. We've made a few sales since then and got wages off the books Cup runs would have added some extra unexpected funds this season with trips to Anfield and Wembley, hopefully Dragan has sorted out his business troubles.

He's done an incredible job, when he came in I think most fans had given up on promotion and the focus was shifting to Sport Republic Out protests. Players looked like they dreaded playing at St Mary's Look at us now I can't remember a turnaround like it within the same season

I remember it well mate, beat Arsenal in the 1/4 finals didn't we as well, no one gave us a chance with Van Dijk out and Stephens/ Yoshida in defence, but we had some luck and Puel had us very well organised, what a night. We have a few players in the squad like Mccarthy, Stephens, Romeu who will remember those cup runs of 2017, 2018, 2021, plus others who experienced the play off final so won't be overawed by the occasion Felt a bit deflated after the draw but reading your post reminds me got to be positive about it, I'll be there with the kids as well , genuine landmark game got to make the most of it. It really struck me at Man City v Forest last year the City fans were just going through the motions, many leaving early to beat the queues , hardly any celebrations at the end , just numb from all the success

Are you a member of Northern Saints? Drop them a message, might be able to help you out I actually think tickets won't be too hard to get anyway

At least we dont have to worry about Man City fans buying in our end, it will be quite an unattractive trip for their fans who will be tempted to save their cash for the final. FA might have learnt a lesson and lower ticket prices? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c14xyegjzv3o

It was same last year, I saw some of it before heading to Wembley, didn't seem to make any difference to match day other than lots of people with medals congratulating each other on the tube

For me our game would be fine at Villa Park

That was so dodgy , 100% fix

Makes me laugh on the radio going on about what a semi final would mean to the fans, Leeds not been in a fa cup semi for 38 years, West Ham not for 20 years, we've had a few in that time!

Could be dark arts to try to sway refs to give them decisions, but also shows an insecure side where they have a victim mentality "it's not fair, it's someone else's fault"

Probably best if we avoid Leeds as well as remember they bought all our tickets for the play off final as well , dont want that happening again

I think they've already confirmed to club Wembley holders that Saturday is 5.30 (might have been 5.15pm can't remember) and Sunday is 4.30pm

That's our new club motto, has worked in every round so far YELLOWS
