Football Special

I remember that, weren't our fans chanting sign him up then he shouted that and completely killed the moment. I was there, remember he was booed when he did it

Could be the end for him today if Rangers lose badly to Celtic.

Jones did very well to get Charlton promoted, the fans like him, he's got plenty of goodwill in the bank, target is to stay up this season, I just know he'll get one over us.

Sheffield United fans didn't want Selles to start with , there was an outcry when he was appointed and has since lost 5 games out of 5, I think his days are numbered there.

But I thought posters on here kept telling us it was getting harder and harder and only a matter of time until a team beats Derby's record? Leeds and Burnley giving it a good go as well. Our effort really was beyond shameful last season

He was good in our last championship season and I remember most fans were pleased when his signing was made permanent There's been a few odd moments with him though, he hadn't been too keen to join if I recall , Martin had to persuade him and it dragged on for a while, the whole raw chicken thing, then tried to force a move to Ipswich, fans will always question his commitment after that.

Well said mate. Let's hope there's some strong characters in the dressing room ready to stand up and be counted, I'm sure any fan who has bumped into Will Still has let him know what's expected

Winds ups have already started, been sent this by a skate parent from my kids football team, they're enjoying their moment

You'd have thought Sports Republic turning us into a midtable championship side would wipe the smirk off your face, seems not. Fact is we lack balance, spine of the team continues to be weak

Was having same discussion today about lack of strong spine, just seems neglected GK - lost Ramsdale gained Norwich joker CD - lost Bednarek and ABK , gained Quarshie CM - losing Aribo, Fernandes, gaining German u21 nipper ST - lost Tall Paul, gained Downs

Should have stuck Aribo on the bench really, if we're paying him might as well use him

Not sure about the fan zones (surely they won't miss a chance to make some money) but a few pubs in town are apparently planning to open nice and early

He does tend to make more interceptions though , are we putting all our eggs in this German u21 basket?

Sad thing is GK and ST have needed addressing for a long time Downs won't be a prolific scorer this season of that I am certain

Longer haul the better , good stuff

Would be handy, we've got transfer window to complete then down to work for this game. Any idea how many players we'll have on international duty compared to them ? I know Baz, Manning and Azaz will be away with Ireland

Downes dropping out did leave us with a makeshift midfield to be fair, Charles, Robinson and Fraser didn't give is much physical presence

And they've got a handful upfront in Bishop, need to watch him as I think he'll get a lot of joy like Keifer Moore did in the Wrexham game

Hi Will, Thanks for checking in. I wouldn't have played a back 5 allowing Watford to dominate the midfield for periods of the game.

6 goals conceded in 4 games, not good at all.

Overall I thought you could see Watford were inexperienced team there for the taking against a better organised side. Once again we were all over the place at times and sloppy passing gifting them several chances to hit us on the break Goes down as a poor result on Still's record

Russell Martin's outburst defending Baz at the fans forum is still one of his weirdest moments and that's saying something

Would be odd, he was in the starting line up when team sheets handed in, then 15 mins later he was "ill"

It was miles out though? Should have had time to adjust his position and perhaps get a hand to it

It's a fixture they've been fucking desperate for for years. When we were relegated last season I remember a comment from them, "next landmark is to get back above the scum, see our name above them in the table, where we belong" First time for what, 15 years? And here we fucking are thanks to Sports Republic Just got to do our bit as fans, turn up and make it as intimidating as possible , get behind the team and hope Still can actually make a team out of them in the next two weeks
