  1. Yep. I’ve said separately in the January Window thread that players need to be shipped out. Cut losses and get rid of some of the deadwood. My point was more an emphasis on SR backing Eckhart. For example, if we don’t sign anyone in January and he has the same turgid players and they decide to sack him in the summer then THAT is on SR. Not on Eckhart.
  2. I’d take James Ward-Prwose back comfortably. Let’s be brutally honest Shea Charles isn’t signing a new contract so we’ll be cashing in on him next summer. Flynn Downes - quite simply, I hope he leaves. I’m extremely confident we won’t be signing a goalkeeper, because it’ll be another admission of poor business by Sport Republic (for Gavin Bazunu). I’m struggling to see what Spors and Sport Republic will do regarding signings in January, I don’t see them many many, if any. But I’m sure they’ll be keen to still try and offload a few such as Sam Edozie and Joe Aribo.
  3. This. I’m hoping it’s on the level of judgement for Scienza and Jander. He obviously sees something in Tonda Eckhart that we don’t currently. But he, and Sport Republic MUST back him in the January window.
  4. Ninety-three points to play for everyone…. If Tonda takes over then Sports Republic HAVE to back him in the transfer window, and if that means buying five or six new players for slightly inflated fees then so be it. Sport Republic, put your money where your mouth is.
  5. Maybe the polling should be reset then. Let’s see how much the board like their stats. 😂
  6. I mean there’s no evidence that Jack Stephens threw his toys out the pram. I don’t think he would try and poison team harmony in any way.
  7. Will Still will do well going forward. I think anyone that is under Sports Republic’s basket case mode of running a football club, they’re already doomed to fail. The disconnect between sections of the club from the fans to the owners, the recruitment team to the playing coaches is so huge.
  8. If Eckhart is kept on until the end of the season and we don’t get promotion, I’d fully expect the club to sack him. Not ship him back to the U21’s. Like Selles he’d have got a taste of management and will want to leave anyway.
  9. Cristiano Ronaldo is a bit of a fanny isn’t he. Elbows Irish player of the ball. Crying gesture to the Irish fans. Goes to VAR. Straight red card. Irish fans give him the crying gesture back whilst singing Lionel Messi’s name. Some say he is still be consoled by Piers Morgan.
  10. I have several questions for Spors and Sports Republic: - What is it that they see in Tonda Eckhart that the fans aren’t aware of or don’t see? - Do they plan on giving him sufficient backing? - Will they give him a strong backroom team to support him and manage the players over-inflated egos? - What is the thinking behind giving a man with no first team managerial experience his first shot at management in one of the toughest leagues in the world, when the fan base is divided, the fans and owners are distant, and the team are an absolute shambles? - Have they taken into consideration that Saints aren’t all that far away from the play offs, a quarter of the way through the season with ninety-three points left to play for, why pick someone with no experience? If any reputable journo could ask these questions that would be wonderful. (All TE dependant).

  12. I suggested Ole Gunner Solskjaer only a few days ago 👀 Back to Tonda Eckhart and Sport Republic: If they are serious and they do appoint him, they need to come out with some kind of statement backing him to the full, that includes signings for key positions and a strong coaching structure. Without that he will lose support quickly from the fans. I feel all they’ll get with TE is a “yes man”. He’s only Sport Republic’s man as long as he is performing, as soon as it goes to shit they’ll bin him off and he’ll be another of many under SR. If they go for him it is a huge, huge risk. I would fully expect SR to paint the whole “promoting from within” spin on his appointment if he is successful.
  13. Will Still and Russell Martin not looking like bad options now 👀🤣
  14. Alex Crook is down there with the cesspit of “sources”. 😂
  15. The big question is….. have we been interviewing? 👀
  16. So basically there is nothing new. That’s literally it. I said a week ago I reckon he’ll still be in the dugout for the Charlton game. What an absolute non-story. 😂
  17. Alex Crook is an absolute chancer. Nothing more, no journalistic integrity. Latches onto stories after they’ve broken. If he’s the first to post a story, it’s usually bollocks and then deleted later.
  18. Will Russell Martin still be available? 🤣
  19. Madness of true. Hoping it’s the classic Alex Crook headline, which is usually bollocks. Anyone heard anymore about Danny Ings and Ryan Bertrand’s new contracts?
  20. Yeah I don’t believe they’d be the type to be like “this’ll be a laugh lads”. Who’s the cheapest manager we can find?
  21. I don’t think there’s much wrong with what DT said, weirdly. I think the overriding concern is that SR have appointed many managers over the years. There is a clear disconnect between the recruitment and the coaching/managerial staff. Take buying Sulemana and Onuachu and then sacking the manager a few weeks later. It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last. SR probably think they’re making the right decisions, however their record is awful. It doesn’t fill you with confidence.
  22. It is a good example of promotion from within. BUT, it only works when the foundations are already built. We aren’t at that stage. The multiclub model which SR are doing is bollocks. They branched out way too fast. Whatever happened to build your focal club up then branch out after that.
  23. To be honest that is a good example. I thought Brentford would plummet this season after losing Toney, Mbuemo and Wissa. However, they have been excellent under him. So far I’ve been completely wrong. They were my banker for relegation.
  24. Not sure if anyone heard this:
