  1. Hopefully this won't be the case in the next 2 matches, especially Reading - hoping our crap Al Jazeera station shows it - 4000 Saints Fans giving it welly on the way to a convincing win would give me a very pleasent semi and impress anybody at the urinals in the pub into thinking it is in sleep mode LOL
  2. But we must try a bit harder to be as good as Skatesmuff. TCSB's normally take 4000 to each away game don't they? Sorry missed the decimal point ... 400.0 LOL
  3. Now that's hurting the grey matter .... only averaging 2 or 3 games a season since I've lived overseas, and most of them away games means a few teams may have snuck in over the last few years since relegation, but brain a bit slowed by a bottle of red ... but I reckon Bomo (friendly late 70's early 80's) Tranmere (Yes THAT Cup Match!!) Huddersfield Stockport Barnsley Wimbledon Preston (think I may have seen them at SMS a few years back 0-0 bore draw?
  4. What a fantastic effort once again - well done one and all - hope you get a decent win for your efforts.
  5. Somerton Park ... thats the place, not County Ground as I said earlier. Also add Leigh RMI at Hilton Park which they used to share with the Rugby League team. Not been to the new ground but been past it if that counts!!
  6. Only Leicester and Southampton are in the New and Old club for me, but quite a few that no longer exist - Highbury, Burnden park, Goldstone ground, EastVille, Highfield rd, Maine rd, Monor Ground, Elm Park, Victoria Ground and Plough Lane plus Old Wembley. Do Newport county still plat at The County Ground? That could be another on the list.
  7. E can no longer look at getting somebody who would be a good bit player from the bench - The 5 on a bench really does put a whole new complexion on which players we name as subs now. Loved Antonio whilst he was here - a bit of a cult hero in the "Chicken George" Lawrence way, but we need to be aiming higher now.
  8. B e careful what you say .... because he might keeeeellllll you!!
  9. Thanks for the inferred character assassination In this day and age of instant communications emails/texts/skype etc I have constant contact with my folks, and my children who are now at uni / working. In fact i can get home quicker from Dubai than my daughter could get to Eastleigh when she was at uni in Carlisle!! Coupled with a visit or two to UK each year and parents visiting here and kids out on hols a couple of times a year we see more of each other than many families probably do, after they had left the nest!!! Oh and many of my mates have been out here and stayed with us and loved the place. Not bad for a sh!thole I think is what most said as they left.
  10. Yep done that .... it was the word PUNK that first caught my eye ( being a Punk music devotee) and then I spied the latters SAI on a bottle next to it and when I turned it round the full SAINT became visible and had to be purchased as well!! Shame about the blue and white label though and that they are only 330 ml bottles though.
  11. Had you down as a staunch Fortnum & Mason man myself.
  12. It's not the formation that matters - it's knowing what Saints don't want to do now now ... before it happens
  13. Sainsburys in Leigh sell a bottled beer in a red and white label call ed 5 am Saint ... 5% and pretty tasty .... smuggled 2 bottles back to Dubai to sup during commentary and osting on here for the next match when I'm not working. Aldi in Leigh was pretty good for veg - on average 10 -20p cheaper.

  15. Blimey I hadn't realised till now .... I'm on the next plane home tomorrow Supping a few cocktails whilst watching the sun go down on the beach, and then having dinner al fresco in the garden with a nice 30c temp and slight breeze and a star filled clear sky tonight counts for nothing ... give me Eastleigh any day.
  16. If you are into Real Ale, then The Brunswick wins hands down. They have their own Micro Brewery there and a great range of Ales - I think they had 12 the last time I was there. Food upstairs was pretty passable and reasonably priced as well. The beer must be good as it made our Dutch duo's team look like world beaters, admittedly against a derby side who hadn't won in about a year!!
  17. Without John Travolta that film would have been a complete flop. (Being a smash hit didn't mean it was good though!!)
  18. Is he a knock off version from Karama in Dubai of Dave Gilmour? Will he be joined by Roger Walters, Richard Right and Nick Maysun?
  19. You have a PM.
  20. With my recent years of notseeing many wins on my visits that was a HUGE relief for me that we didn't end the winning home run whilst I was there. Off for a goodly few beers down The Cricketers YAY.
  21. The Arch Bishop looking for some nuns maybe?
  22. Me too ... it was one of my best posts ever .... damn and blast.
  23. A future signing for Brighton has scored for Bayer leverkusen .... Bender.
  24. Wow ... a blast from the past ..... nice to see you enjoying some nice weather instead of me telling you about it!!
  25. Nearly worked - Guly snap shot into side netting.
