I'll be keeping an eye on my own just in case!! You mentioned Mangoes earlier - I was thinking about making a small Mango Fool or Mousse for dessert - are you both okay with that or shall I get a Plan B ?

Following on from the drinks & foods freds - what smells do you really like first thing in the morning and which ones turn your stomach? Probably the smell of fresh bread (or even just toast) is one of mine and although not a great coffee fan the aroma of a nice coffee is pretty damn good as well. The smell of bacon cooking only appeals if it's later on after a lie in and the thought of a bacon sarney to mop up the previous nights booze is great so long as you aren't cooking it and aren't too hungover!! On the down side I experienced 2 different ones this week. A few days ago i made a superb Thai Green Curry which had a lot of asparagus in it and the next morning the first wee of the day smelt like stewed cabbage yuk!! Th The next evening I had a selection of stinky cheeses (including a particularly pungent Reblochon) and in a bottle of red wine induced state of laziness I didn't get around to washing the plates or getting rid of the bits of rind etc and the smell that greeted me from the kitchen was like how I'd imagine a laundray basket fall of 2 week old sweaty socks and a pair of Sue Boyles shreddies after she'd been in the gym working out for 4 hours (highly unlikely I know!!). Despite the horror of those 2 the worst for me is the smell of somebody lighting up the first cigarette of the day or waking up to an ash tray of fag ends and half finished glasses of booze with a raging hangover the morning after the night befores party!!

I have the same reaction with Carlsberg Special Brew .... even just saying the name makes me feel like chundering. Got absolutely blitzed on it as a teenager and every time I hurled chunks through the night all I could taste / smell was the sickly sweet Special Brew. Gin is well up there as well - the perfumed smell of gin makes me squeamish - not because i was mega sick on it - but the first time I ever tasted it (teenager years again!!) was necked straight from a bottle whilst stone cold sober in an attempt to catch up with my mates who had been on the sauce a few hours ahead of me. I really thought that they were on a wind up and had just mixed some water with a perfume!!

But apart from that they are dead ringers!!

There must still be a feud going on between The Echo & SFC. Not a dickie bird about it on The Online Echo site. Not a good situation at all.

When is it going to be launched then - absolutely zilch on OS or in The Echo FFS. I feel sorry for the thousands of people queued up overnight at SMS and the millions around the world who did the same as Alpine last night and this morning. I tried to break the news to my goldfish gently, but I can see he is devastated and has resorted to just swimming aimlessly around his bowl, not making any attempt to read my computer screen from his vantage point next to it where I placed him so that we could share the special moment together. Sort it out now.

LOL .... you can almost feel the sense of trepidation on the opening game of the season as you take your seaon ticket seat, a bit like getting on a long haul flight, hoping/praying that you are sat next to a really hot piece of pussy and not some total bumbling dribbling mongtard - knowing that this is how it is going to be every other weekend for the next 9 months For Saturday, bearing in mind we are playing a German team, (stereotypical observation ahoy......) I suggest you get up at the crack of dawn and make your way down to SMS armed with some Beach Towels (preferably SFC ones from The Club Shop) and drape them over your required viewing point and then bog off to the Bouncy Castle till the games start. Each time you wish to leave The Arena, lay out the mighty SFC towel again - jobs a good un!! - give the sausage munchers a taste of their own mdicine.
