Why pay so much just to see Lewis Hamilton or Jensen Button for about 3 seconds every 2 minutes or whatever hurtle past you when you can be up to date with commentary, info and action replays from every angle imaginable from the comfort of your lounge or in a pub supping beer.

A couple of seasons ago a few of us were taken to a half decent pub in the town not too far away from the train station by a friendly Tyke (admittedly did wonder if we were being set up at first!!) Sorry can't remember the name but landlord was a Wednesday fan so didn't mind away fans coming in!! A bit later mates of one of the lads with us pitch up at the station and got a police escort to the souless liesure centre!! Spread out I guess and don't draw attention to yourselves or hire a whippet and a few ferrets for the afternoon to blend in!!!

After a good win I'm as happy as could be - until i come on here and read how crap the keeper/defence were despite the clean sheet against the most potent attack force in the league, how woefully inept the midfield were although each one of them set up a goal for the forwards and as for those 2 up front only 2 goals each against the best defence in the league - pathetic. And what about the manager - useless tactics, it was sheer bad luck for the home team to lose their 2 year long unbeaten by 4 - 0 to us. Just getting back in time for the first ever Prem game at SMS v Chelsea. My first view of the ground from outside made me think, Feck me we have arrived in the Big Time and then the view and atmosphere from Block 1 ? right next to The chelsea fans was simply fantastic. No more little old Southampton surviving on 15232 capacity crowds - we are going places now - meh - little did I know then exactly where we were going

On BBC ? Ummmmm. Not sure how the overseas rights work here in Dubai. The waste of space that is Al Jazeera Sports has the franchaise for The Middle East I believe. They hardly ever publish a schedule in advance and they didn't seem to show half of the Championship or L1 games that were on UK TV last season - so maybe there is a problem with only showing Sky matches .... aaaaarrrgggghhh!!

The pre match build up is shyte - they spend more time talking about Skatesmuff, Bompey, Eastleigh and Totton, table tennis and tiddly winks than Saints!! The match commentary is exactly what you'd listen to on Solent - if you are within range of course - which is where it becomes the only way to listen live if you don't live in the Hampshire area. If Whispering Dave doesn't do it for you - you have the option of listening to the opposition's commentary instead - and believe me some of them make Solent look world beaters, some are just hilarious and it's nice to hear good things said about us by the opposition sometimes!! Of course we aren't playing minnows week in week out next season so the other team's taters might be of a higher calibre, but I'll miss them not creaming themselves over how good SMS is and great itt is being in a ground with more than 5000 fans in!! It is annoying when they shoot of to places like Totton, Eastleigh, Basingstoke etc for goal flashes although some of the taters are mad!! They have also bizarrely chosen somebody with a lisp to read out the HT and FT scores - amazing how many teams score 3 each week!! The post match stuff runs for about an hour after wards but once again is not totally SFC, reports and interviews from all the other grounds as well. If you live outside the area it is a must - also a day or two later you get match highlights, sometimes only a few minutes long, sometimes extended, sometimes even the whole match!!

Luton away in our last promotion from 2nd Tier to Top Tier near the end of the season seemed that way. Mind you we passed loads of coaches heading out of Luton going to Wembley for The Non League version of The FA Cup Final. (FA Vase?) A local team from the Luton Area were playing in The Final.
