Our bad starts owe little to transfer activity, p!ss poor preparation etc - more to do with me being back in the UK:? I'm normally back home for the first few weeks of the season, and barely ever get to see a win - although I was at Coventry the last time we won an opening day fixture. Admittedly most of the games I manage to get to are away games, and back in The Prem days that meant the northern games like Liverpool, Everton, Man U etc so there is a bit of an excuse there tbh!! Most of the games I've seen over the last few years have been drawshome and away, but the team just dodesn't seem to get going till I leave the UK. This year will be a bit of a tester as I won't be back until Sept 6th - so if we haven't rcaked up a few wins by then, it could be a tough September!!

My memory must be playing tricks .. thought they had a big car park!! Mind you I've only ever walked there, so parking wasn't a prob!! It will only be a lunchtime visit, although I might possibly stroll down for the quiz later dependent on mates/family committments.

Ladeez form an orderly queue and try and control yourselves , Phil will have his GF with him. Mrs EoA however will be 3200 miles away Name tags stapled to your foreheads would be helpful but not mandatory !!

Bev Turner (can't find any pics that do her justice,) used to be on a Foodie programme called Taste. Feck me when she enjoyed a bite of food or a slurp of wine she virtually orgasmed - closely followed by me just watching her not just a squirt - she'd get a fully blown hosing down FFS.

I think it is a disgrace that Adkins name hasn't been chucked into the hat for any of the vacancys that have cropped up over the last few months - Villa, WHU, Brum, Cardiff, Forest etc and even of course Chelsea!! Has Nasty Nick issued a hands off if you value your gonads warning? Is NA holding out for his spiritual home of Liverpool to crop up? The papers have even gone cold on AOC, even though Man U and Arsenal are splashing (or are about to) the cash.

Next week a few days visiting dad in Eastleigh, a few days up and down the M6 between Leigh and Keswick and Carlisle ferrying daughters about.. ... and then same again in Sept but change Carlisle bit for Nottingham!! Also hope to catch a few games home and away time permitting. Rest of the year slumming it up in Dubai!!

Stuffing Champions elect Derby County 5-0 in The League Cup - back then nobody put out weakened teams, brightened up a pretty poor start to our life in Div 2 (old money). Anderlecht in UEFA Cup - so near yet so far. WBA in FA Cup replay in our 76 cup winning run. I discovered how it feels to be a sardine. Pretty sure The Milton was way over subscribed!! A bit of a cheat for the next 1 as Í wasn't actually there - Dream Team Lawrie & Bally's triumphant return to clear away the gloom and depression of the branfart era with a thumping 4-2 in the snow over Liverpool which I watched on Sky!! And last but by no means least - probably my favourite ever night at The Old Girl - Mick Channon's Testimonial just after our 76 Cup win. Nothing to do with the match - but the atmosphere will never be beaten.

I had to - AQ only offered CSE's so I had to go to BP to sit GCE's and then A levels and had a brilliant time doing it as well. Of course being a 6th Former I didn't have to dress up like a Green Fly in a cabbage patch LOL
