Angry unhappy man being unhappy and angry I see.
-
Completely agree, spot on. Unfortunately the way of the world these days he’ll be either sacked or banned. Disappointing knee-jerk reaction from so many of our fans though.
-
If we'd just got a fine from the efl and were playing at Wembley in a couple of days time would you still be calling for him to be sacked?
-
Massive overration from the EFL, the media, and the Karens of this forum. Absolute shambles from Saints, but hopefully with a bit of time and when the dust settles everyone will calm down and gain a bit of perspective. Yes, there will be sackings and we'll lose some key players, but we will still be one of the biggest clubs in the Championship next season and will have a set-up and infrastructure far better than most. If Middlesbrough had nicked a win against us last week or we'd sneaked into the play off final with a heavy fine, whilst still being clearly guilty of "spying", all these conversations and emotional outbursts wouldn't be on the agenda. We fucked up, got caught, got a very heavy punishment and we're angry with the club for getting caught and are blaming them for the severity of the punishment. Come August 99% of us will be back in St Marys cheering the side on like we've always done.
-
I think once the dust settles down we'll end up retaining more of our players than many expect. We'll still have good quality Championship level players like Fellowes, Matsuki, Manning would be my guess and we'll get good money for those that leave. Biggest shame will be Peretz and Larin not joining us, particularly Peretz for me who made an incredible difference.

Yeah, why would anyone from Saints leak such a bit of information?
-
What would be in it for any other whistleblower? We were a unique situation with the timing of our game and their relationship with Middlesbrough. I’m sure there’s tons of dodgy grey area stuff going on in the background across football, but you need a lot of things to come together at one time for it to spill out in the open like it has for us.
-
Agreed, as much chaos as possible please. Got to see the funny side of this now.

You just appear to be another one of the over emotional Karens on this forum. Sports Republic have been consistently shit for us as I stated above, but if we’d just been hit with a heavy fine and were playing at Wembley in a couple of days your reaction would be completely different.
-
I agree actually, feel really sorry for him the way both Saints and Middlesbrough have treated him, got to think of his mental health and well being. Only slight point of disagreement is I don't think his career would be over, junior enough and working back of house, he should be able to find another role once this has all calmed down.
-
I'll probably be in a minority of one here, but I actually feel sorry for him. A very talented coach who has fucked up and made a stupid mistake that will ruin his career and follow him around for the rest of his life.
-
You are unable to follow a simple logical example, so we’ll leave it there.
-
If he’d been found guilty but the punishment was a fine no-one would really care and no-one would be suggesting he or SR should be sacked/replaced. Probably be taken out of our hands anyway, but this is all a reaction to the punishment not the crime.
-
I don’t think anyone believed that did they.
-
That’s my point, it’s an emotional reaction to the severity of the punishment, if we’d been found guilty, got hit with a fine and be playing at Wembley in a couple of days most of our support would still be singing his name.
-
But we all knew one of Tonda’s coaching team had been caught spying. Nothing has changed since then apart from the severity of our punishment. That is what this is a reaction to.
-
A ban obviously takes it out of our hands, but why was no-one calling for Tonda to be sacked this time last week? By that point it was clear we’d done something wrong and he’d have been involved in it, but we thought we were still going to Wembley so no-one cared.
-
I think Sports Republic have been consistently shit for us, but would we be getting the same reaction from supporters if the panel had found us guilty and just whacked us with a heavy fine and nothing else? A lot of this is an emotional reaction from our fans to the severity of the punishment, rather than the “crime” itself.
-
Exactly. Gibson seems to have dictated all this from the very start.
-
As stated above the punishment has matched exactly with what Middlesbrough asked for from the very start. That has to be pretty rare in such circumstances surely? Some coincidence that. Not a penny fined.
-
“Moral bankruptcy”?!? Ffs keep some perspective, they’ve royally fucked up and then managed the fall out dreadfully, but we’ve done nothing different to what many clubs around the world do. It was clear we’d done something wrong 2 weeks ago, why this reaction now?
-
Anyone know which lawyers we’ve used for this?
-
This is my take on it. Unbelievably naive, ill-prepared, amateur approach. Wheel out heavy-weight comms control and legal team, tie the process up in knots, drag it out like any other club seems to do when charges thrown at it. We should have the resources at our disposal to do this, but instead have walked into the whole thing not realising how serious it all is and have been absolutely hammered as a result.
