Nigerian rapist allowed to stay in UK as he has a 'life' over here
Spudders replied to Spudders's topic in The Lounge
If you can find me a similar story where a white English person has done the same thing and been afforded the same luxuries as this case, feel free to post it here so we can all give that person some abuse and show the same disgust to that story. That’s one of the problems with this country these days, if you say bad word about a person who is not from here you’re branded a racist. -
Nigerian rapist allowed to stay in UK as he has a 'life' over here

All about his rights, his family are happy, etc, nothing about the rights of the victim. -
Ahh the good old 'human rights' rule once again trumps everything else............ http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/immigration/8777138/Family-life-ruling-means-Nigerian-rapist-can-stay.html 'Family life' ruling means Nigerian rapist can stay A Nigerian rapist cannot be deported from Britain because a legal fight to remove him took so long he has developed a “life” here, European judges have ruled. Akindoyin Akinshipe, 24, was first told he was being deported in 2003 while serving four years for the rape of a 13-year-old girl. He was 15 at the time and told the girl he was called DMX, after the controversial American rapper who glorified the rape of young girls. Akinshipe had only been in the country three years when he first faced removal but he has been able to challenge the order through the domestic and European courts for the last eight years. Since then he has been to university, gained a Master's degree, become a regular churchgoer and found a job. The European Court of Human Rights yesterday ruled that deporting him now would breach his right to a family and private life, despite accepting that “very serious violent offences can justify expulsion”. Last night his family told The Daily Telegraph that they were "very pleased" with the court's decision. The ruling was even based on the fact that he was effectively developed a social and cultural life in the UK rather than a family life because he does not have a wife or children. It is the latest controversial decision from the Strasbourg court to defy the ruling of UK courts, which had concluded he could be removed. The court agreed to a request from Akinshipe not to identify him in its ruling but The Daily Telegraph today names him. The move is another blow to David Cameron’s pledge to overhaul human rights laws and deport foreign criminals. It also comes two months after Theresa May, the Home Secretary, announced moves to re-examine the definition of right to family life in a bid to stop it being exploited by offenders and terrorists. Figures last week showed foreign criminals are using the so-called Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights in more than half of all successful appeals against deportation. Dominic Raab, the Tory MP who campaigns for a review of human rights laws, said: 'It is a warped notion of human rights that allows a convicted rapist to claim the right to family life to avoid deportation.” Akinshipe arrived in the UK aged 13 with his two sisters in 2000 to join their mother, who was working as a nurse. Two years later he was convicted of the rape of a 13-year-old girl after he and friends had encouraged her via text messages to meet them. The Old Bailey heard at the time that he was obsessed with the US gangster rapper DMX, who said in one of his songs: “If you got a daughter older than 15 I'm gonna rape her”. Akinshipe was jailed for four years but the Home Office inadvertently granted him indefinite leave to remain while he was inside after granting his mother the same right. Once officials realised he had a rape conviction he was told he would be deported – in 2003. Attempts to prevent deportation were made before immigration tribunals and the Court of Appeal but failed but the case dragged on and ended up before the European Court. Judges there concluded that while his conviction was a “serious one” other factors that had to be taken in to account included his length of stay in the UK, the time that had elapsed since his offence and the “solidity of social, cultural and family ties” with the UK. The court said that he has now spent almost half his life here and now works for a local council in London. It also awarded him almost £3,500 in costs. Speaking from their terraced house in Downham, south east London, his mother, Munisola, a 48 year-old hospital nurse, said: "We are very pleased (with the court ruling). "It has been a very traumatic experience. But he will need to speak to his solicitor. We just want our privacy." A UK Border Agency spokeswoman said: “We are extremely disappointed by this judgment and will consider the next steps carefully. “This government is determined to remove foreign criminals from the UK and does not believe that Article 8, the right to family or private life, should outweigh the need to protect the public from serious criminals.”

Does it allow me to 'poke' girls I went to school with, but haven't spoken with for over 20 years?

Good observational skills and well spotted! Yeah you’d be correct with that assumption to some extent, I start off with good intentions, the picture of the racking was taken after I first put them all in after I moved into my flat, they’re not quite as uniform now, but still close enough. All my t-shirts are in colour order moving from one shade into another colour. But it’s mainly only storage I maintain this tidiness. I can’t keep my kitchen tidy at all, my bedroom is always a mess and my lounge area has boxes and paperwork scattered across the floor. Coincidently I was having a conversation yesterday about OCD and Autistic type tendencies (the main different being autism is something people are born with, whereas OCD is developed, usually after some sort of trigger event). I used to live with a girl who worked with autistic people. She used to say that we all have these tendencies to a lesser or greater extent, I guess I sit a bit higher up the scale than most people, but not high enough for it to be a problem or very noticable. I do have some odd tendencies of these type, I have to have my car stereo volume on an even number, if I’m buying something like a bar of chocolate I will always pick up the first one I focus on, not the one at the front, when I take a mug off the mug tree to make coffee it’s not a random selection, I pick the one I focus on first.

Have you been tempted/would you ever consider supporting another football team? I have no idea why I prefer Adidas, just been that way for years and wouldn’t deviate from that now. The Koln are old and rough but the Tahiti’s are in mint condition. I keep the boxes as well, I just don’t see the point in having the trainers, but keeping them tucked away in boxes You are weird, collecting anything is weird, I don’t understand why people want signatures of famous people, collect stamps, coins, football programmes, etc, it’s all weird really when you think about it. Anyhew I don’t ‘collect’ trainers I’ve just accumulated loads over the years as I like lots of different trainers. That said, I would agree I am weird, but for many other reasons Ah-ha, to the untrained eye that would seem the case, however I’ll raise the geek level a bit by saying that I have an original pair from around the early 80’s, two pairs of the 2003 version (I ruined my first pair wearing them to Glastonbury), a pair of the 2008 version and finally a pair of the 1/500 size? anniversary version. I don’t say that I collect them either mate, that doesn’t stop everyone else saying I do!

How dare you suggest the internet is not serious, shame on you. Go and stand in the corner facing the wall

I also came to the assumption it was my aftershave she noticed and not my manly pheromones. -
Does she want some? Met a girl for a drink at lunchtime, as we were going our seperate ways and did the old peck on the cheek thing, she said that I smelt nice. Is this a sure sign that she want it? My assumption is yes, but I thought I'd open it up for discussion, what with the majority of you being so in with girls.

This!!! Something I've said to mates before! It's not like it'll shrink again, I don't get this either.

Regardless of the obviously mockery I’ll no doubt receive, it’s difficult for me not to make a contribution to this thread. As you’ll see below, Window Cleaner is not the only trainer geek that frequents this forum!!!! In answer to the questions…… What trainers do you wear: Lots, all adidas of some sort Current: Depends on mood, weather, what I’m wearing, if I’m driving or walking or likely to be stood about, etc Favourite: This is far too complicated a question for me to give a simple answer as I have different favourites for different scenarios dependant on factors highlighted in the above mentioned ‘Current’ answer. For example, in the winter, if I were going to the football I’d go for something like one of the more recent ‘Rom’ silhouettes, as these have thick soles (useful when stood on cold concrete) and they also have good grip (useful if it’s wet and slippy). However if I were driving I’d go for something with a thin sole so I can feel the pedals better, also useful as my car has small peddles that are close together, so maybe I’d choose the ‘Paris’ or ‘Melbourne’. Naturally if I were just trying to show off and impress other people into their ‘trabs’ I’d go for one of my rarer pairs, maybe my ‘Koln’ or ‘brussels’ from the 80’s, however this is far less likely these days as I very rarely go out much, making it all the more ironic I have so many pairs of trainers How many do you own: I have just under 90 pairs at the moment, this does not include my running shoes which are just normal saucony runners, I don’t count any of these. Photos would be good: Dog, I hope the photos below are up to a high enough geek standard for you to be appalled that there really are people sad enough to own so many pairs of trainers and who also have time to put them in piles or spread them on the floor to take photos of them. In my defence I’d just moved into the flat and put the racking together so I thought I’d take some pics before I put them all in the racking, however even I can see how futile an excuse that is and what a total nerdy geek I am. This is of course equally applicable for adidas trainers dating back to the 80’s and earlier, but for very different reasons. I’m sure you don’t all need me to tell you about the fact that the glue ‘back in the day’ was of a lot lower quality than can be found these days, plus age causes a deterioration in its quality and as such, washing them in water any hotter than warm could result in the soles coming off of the shoes completely (I’m sure you all knew that).
