Thanks ART, it was a very good evening. The guy was on top form, had time for everyone. I was especially greatful to him for letting me sit down with him and ask the rest of the questions i had for him. He was more than happy to turn each of them into a full on conversation rather than just a Q & A session

He did speak of where he "heard" England were going to be based, but i cant remember where it was!! Somewhere with high altitude.I will find out where it was. As for tickets he was saying that its all FIFA, they com in and do everything, from advertising to media. He mentioned how all the local sponsorship boards at grounds had to be pulled down and FIFAs choices put in place, describing it as "loaning the country to fifa" certainly will keep it in the special memory place. Also have some signed books (Constant Paine and Dell Diamond) which I will be giving to a charity raffle (details to follow). 2 of the 4 books I have signed David Bull (the author) donated them once he knew it would go to charity. Nice bloke and will be at the Rovers game Friday :-)

yes i was the one who asked him about the best defenders he came up against. lol i did notice the odd idiot, especially when he walked in, the guys behind me were laughing at how old he was and the way he walked!!

he already knew, the author of his book (and other saints books too) David Bull was there and he keeps him upto speed.

Just got back from meeting him. Answered lots of questions regarding world cup and south africas bid etc. I asked him.. "Who was the best defender you played against in... A) League - He answered: Ray Wilson B) International" - He answered: Karl Schnellinger (West German Defender) I then asked him what was his favourite match he played in, mentioned loads of games but the one for him that stuck in his mind was the England v Rest of World match in 1963 in which England won 2-1. He chose this game because of the sheer talent on the pitch, he was humbled almost to be on the same stage as these greats. I asked him the "did Ron Matthews really pull you down by left ear for a pen when we beat derby 6-4 and down to 9 men?" He said he remembered the game well and said he was definitely fouled, wasnt sure it was his ear though ;-) Then had a chat with him about boots and in particular players wearing blades. He said that he introduced a set of blades into SA football and doesnt blame the blades for knee injuries in the modern game but more the pace of it. Yes there are cases where blades havent helped but doesnt think its solely down to them. I then asked him if he could have his time again now, what players would he most like to play alongside, he replied Crouch as he thought he could supply him with plenty of crosses and knock-downs and Rooney just for his flare and skill. He then signed books and just chatted openly about saints, Lowe and the new set-up. How he was asked last season to give hs opinion to Lowe how he thought a game had gone and what could be done differently, he declined (got the impression Terry is more than pleased Lowe has gone) He spoke about his tv work, no plans Phil to show L1 or JPT games. Is gutted they only get access to little packages of L1 games. Sees the future at saints very rosey. Is pleased that stability is there, describes Cortese has a hard task master who doesnt like losing. Mentioned that Marcus will be good for the city as he has plans for investment etc. All in all a top bloke, clearly passionate about football and saints. Is very excited with the world cup coming up and hopes it puts SA football on the map for years to come.

game is good but i do worry that its become too detailed. There are alot more options to play around with and as a result the UI has become cluttered. Will still buy it and waste hours on end with with future versions that FM doesnt outgrow FM

yes i agree but they usually dont release a patch 2 days after the game was released ;-)
