I have a couple of people from here who I have asked to help out with this. I doubt we will be able to use it at all the away games and I am very interested to see what barriers (if any) we come up against. It will certainly test the health and safety stance the club initially took

...or the Markus Liebherr lounge?

yep, he does what he is told from above

my thoughts exactly! The communication (or lack of) is shocking!

Just got off the phone with Jordan, not good im afraid.... The family, touched by the initial concept and the appearance at the memorial game, dont wish to see it at home games as it is a reminder of their loss. It will only be used at SMS on the tribute game once a year. However, I have arranged to pick it up and get it used at away games which with the help of some people on here will hopefully work. I do anticipate some issues with permission but I guess its worth a go. From a personal point of view I can only apologise for how this has turned out and if I could have forseen the issues we have had I would never have started it. Thanks to all those that contributed both in money and support.

it was funny banter at the time but wouldn't want it repeated -
saw the goal and his message on t-shirt on sky this morning, very sad news. Thoughts are with him and his family

I'm in block 42 row GG, I hate the waving of tickets and the songs a section sang at 43, confronted a couple of them saying that I dont remember them being stood there when we lost 4-1 at home to palace etc, they tried to laugh it off but soon realised the point.
-
this is the problem though. The impression I have is that they dont like any "outside involvement" everything is done on the quiet with little or no communication. Even if we went to them with this idea 1) you would be waiting along time for a responce, if you even get one at all. and 2) They would welcome it initially with open arms but then something would prevent it happening (paperwork in this case!)

and a lot of time!

so just to clarify, the flag meets all fire regs and is made from the proper fire retardant material and came with the certificate. The last contact I had from the club on this was that due to the significant amount of paper work involved before every match to get the safety certificate, the flag would only be used at big games and special occasions (eg memorial match). Since then we have had a sell out (West Ham game) so I think its safe to assume that the "big game" bit is ******.
-
yep that's the chap. I met him before the flag was made but Jordan Sibley is the contact guy.
-
It came with the fire cert, otherwise we wouldnt have seen it at the ML memorial match either.
-
oh no, not another season ticket waver
-
I honestly expected to see it at the West Ham game tbh, especially after the clubs reply of "...only for big games.." The lack of communication from them and their seemingly blatant disregard for what we have done has ****ed me off. I cant believe that it is just a paperwork issue now. Bloody good job we are top and playing well. If anyone else wants to "enquire" as to the flags whereabouts please email Jordan Sibley

Expect interest from prem club in Jan

its hardly a tax when you have the option to say "no"

you really do have your own agenda dont you? It must pain you to see us have such a great start

yes, I lost count at how many emails and phones calls were ignored / unreplied to. I even had a couple of head stewards I know on the case but they were told nothing. We really need to work on our customer relations!

Finally got a reply... "Apologies for you not receiving a reply, I was under the impression that Mark had sent you one. As I believe Mark explained when you came for a meeting at St Mary’s, the issue with displaying the flag relates to the safety of supporters within the ground when this flag is overhead. A large amount of paperwork needs to be completed for every fixture that the flag is unveiled, and as such it was agreed that it would only be used for the occasional high profile game and fixtures that fall outside the normal parameters of regular home matches (pre-season friendlies)." I did point out that other clubs such as Liverpool etc seem to have no issue with their flags and are often out, it does appear that the OB are playing hard ball with regards to "safety" The club (to answer Steve Grants question) donated £2k.
