exactly, christ if we cant find 4 top class strikers from the likes of Utd, City, Arsenal, Chelsea etc. what does that tell you about our talent. I love SRL, think he is a very good footballer, so much beter in the last couple of years, BUT if he gets in the England team as a 30 year old playing for a bottom of the league side, well, how desperate have we become? Lets face it, the big clubs wont be in for Rickie (thankfully), so how does that make him good enough for England? If it does, its because we have such a lack of young English talent. Would you swap RL for RVP, of course you would. Would Capello or even Martinez and have made those substition calls, dont thinks so?

Never in doubt that he would emerge better in the EPL. It has been interesting watching him over the years, I remember in the 3rd div, how he struggled but you could see that behind it all, he was a proper footballer. Just a shame that Arsenal effectively bought him, give it a year or so, and they'll probably want him back.

it was on par with Sir Alf taking off Boby Charlton in the 70 WC against the Germans, thats how bad it was. Jesus, it lost us the game FFS. You can talk about bad marking, Davis etc. but the fact is that Utd werent getting near us, we didnt need to mark them because we were running the show, i think if we had left all 3 on we would have rolled out 3 or 4-1 winners. That would have taken marking RVP out of the equation.
