  1. I agree with the sentiments from both posters, 19 goals in 47 games for us (when we've been utter tosh) is pretty bloody good and I'd always try to find space for him. However, I'd like to point out he's scored a goal every 2.6 games, not two and a half goals a game or clearly he'd be playing for somebody far, far better than us.

:o How did the court case go then?
  3. Excluding one of Hampshire's famous batting collapses, Notts will do well to win this one and a draw isn't likely. Durham look to be in the best position to me, despite losing two wickets at the close. Notts will have to face Tahir in the fourth innings and with a couple of exceptions, they looked clueless against him the first time around. They've also done a good line in choking at vital momemts this year. Sussex 25-3 at the close Shame stumps were called otherwise they could well have lost a couple more wickets. Chin up Chris Adams.
  4. I'm fairly sure I remember someone saying on SkySports that when a player is loaned abroad then technically he signs a permanent contract for the team, for the length of the loan period. Then when the period ends, the player re-signs back with the parent team permanently. That's why loan signings from abroad don't count towards the number you can have in match day squads. However, if I'm wrong I look forward to being corrected.

    The Ryder Cup

It wasn't really hindsight. It was obvious that we needed to get amongst it early on and in the middle, to pressurize the Americans. It was also quite obvious to most people that we probably weren't going to get as far as McDowell, Westwood, Harrington and Poulter as the USA only needed five and a half points in the singles to win. I think you have to give yourself a chance to win, which we didn't by loading the end. That said, I agree that Westwood, Garcia and Harrington didn't really perform and without them firing it was always going to be difficult.

    The Ryder Cup

Well, for a start he could have selected Daren Clarke who has a good Ryder Cup record and won two events in the lead up to the tournament, and secondly he could put a lot more pressure on the weaker Americans at the end by putting his strongest form players out early and in the middle. Having them play at the end when the match was already lost was pretty pointless.
