I think the Turkish top flight is classified as “band 2” in the work permit criteria whereas the J-League is “band 5”. As such a year in Turkey with regular minutes would probably see him get enough points to qualify.
-
Possibly worth noting that a black side panel is consistent with the above image that turned up on the Chinese knock off sites a month ago.
-
It may be ambiguous in that case, but the context of the article before the above quote is a swap deal, and the only mention of a fee is us to West Ham.
-
You are correct. The text in the Telegraph article is "He has one year left on his contract with Southampton, who would likely also pay a fee for Downes if Walker-Peters were to move to West Ham. The deals, however, may be structured separately."

With the all the free transfer links as well, I don't think it can be understated how important bodies in the door could be. As it stands today we're set be seven players down on last years first team squad purely from contract expiries and loan returns. That's about 30% of a typical squad of ~23 players. Don't get me wrong, if we're sat here in 6-8 weeks and those are the only types of players we are signing I think we're right in the shit. But as low cost options to add depth and experience (and complement other signings) I'm not particularly upset about it.

That's interesting. I was half wondering if an extension was in the works given the stained glass style graphic they announced Lallana with had the Hummel logo removed from this seasons shirt, but a prominent Sportsbet.io logo.

A listing purporting to be our new shirt has turned up on a certain Chinese knock off website and matches that template...

More likely 29 into 30. On the FAQ page there is a question around where increased FA Cup away allocations will be answered with "Fans will be allocated seats in the Kingsland Stand. This is because of requirements of space and amenities (e.g. toilets, concessions etc.) being more easily accommodated in the Kingsland Stand."
-
Yes. The FAQ on the OS under "How long will my current seat in the Northam Stand be held?" says "The seat will be held at the early bird price until the conclusion of the season." Ultimately it's impossible to know take up at the moment as it pertains to blocks 40-42 as all current season ticket seats will be unavailable, even if the holders have moved or not renewing.

Brentford had already brought in Mark Flekken to be their new number one earlier in the summer.
-
That’s exactly how I read it. Looks limited to video in web browser via pc/mobile/tablet, which seems a little low tech for 2023.

If I recall correctly it was two seasons and we were one of the driving forces behind it due to Van Dijk downing tools at the start of the season after Liverpool's tapping up, as well as Swansea having similar issues with Sigurdsson/Everton. Issue was then lack of alignment with other leagues/countries meaning players could still go but couldn't be replaced.

Looked like he picked up a knock during the first half at Reading, then was subbed at half time (the only half time sub made so didn't appear pre-arranged.)

Will season ticket prices be released now and will you renew?

I got one for a friend and noticed that in the Northam an adult ticket was £20, so looks like it may be a £10 discount from whatever the usual price is. -
It's £50 for Leicester & Leeds!

1086 is pretty much bang in the middle of the row so you'll be closed to centre than aisle. -

The season ticket FAQ specifically says "You can’t use your MySaints account credit when paying via Direct Debit." which seems absolutely non-sensical to me. -
Indeed, apologies for missing that pretty important fact. Hopefully it won't impact us at all in that case!

The Athletic did a piece on the new EFL/Sky deal last month that says: So should at least get significant advanced notice compared to the PL. Some people might be unpleasantly surprised regarding the amount of games that could be moved away from Saturday 3pm though. Of the twelve Championship games each weekend, five will be broadcast by Sky (on a combination of TV & streaming). This means that those five cannot be played at Sat 3pm as the blackout remains in place. The plan is that a typical week will see these split out with one on Friday night, two on Saturday lunchtime (streaming) and the final two at some point Sunday or Monday.

Initial one year deal signed in August 2020, extended "for a further three years" in April 2021, so theoretically should have another year to run.
-
This, combined with the fact that earlier in the article they describe Orsic as a striker worries me.
-
No worries. You're not wrong generally. There are some (Mara at Leicester comes to mind) that are so clearly offside you wonder why the flag doesn't just go up immediately.
-
Jacob Tanswell in The Athletic piece on the game this morning makes reference to "St Mary’s disease-ridden pitch, caused by a fungus problem that left lumps of grass dislodged and turf easily cut up."
-
I have to disagree with this. Screen grab of the offside below. The offside itself is quite tight so I can understand (given the current application of delayed flags) why the lino didn't flag straight away. Also, Lavia wasn't injured in the melee. He gave the ball away initially in Chelsea's half which allowed them to start the counter, started sprinting back, during which he pulled up and started feeling the hamstring. In the image of the offside you can see him holding the back of his left leg.

I am curious as to how the outside bars will work. Will you be able to get a beer and stroll freely around the stadium perimeter with it or will they have to pen everyone in outside the bar whilst drinking?
