  1. He's looking poor quality
  2. Two tackles, definitely off at half time if he carries on like this
  3. Here all week...
  4. Bloody hell, our new full back did a tackle
  5. Okay, can we park this discussion before we have an MLG Odyssey on our hands.. We have a match to moan about...
  6. That doesn't make sense. Back to front surely
  7. Chris Wood is the striker we have been crying out for, for years
  8. Che Adams was under appreciated and is far from shit. Admittedly his main strength was as a target man rather than as a lethal finisher. However, his stats are 25 goals and 13 assists in 124 PL matches. So, that translates to 7 or 8 goals a season which would make him by far the best striker in our team had he stayed.

    Ivan Juric

It is a strength not a weakness to admit a mistake you know

    Ivan Juric

Staggeringly unaware. You pick post after post apart for the most trivial of mistakes in syntax or grammar but then take grievous offence when someone points out a mistake of your own.
  11. I thought that also
  12. I thought that also
  13. So, we could have just kept Ralf and given him the effin money he was crying out for to buy a quality striker, good goalkeeper and creative midfielder.

    Pretentious, moi?
  15. You can add ability to that list
  16. Evil, disgusting comment that has no place on this forum. You should apologise.
  17. Untrue exaggeration to say that he was atrocious last season. When he was used in his natural position (DM) he looked very good; in January 2024 Flynn Downes labelled the performances of teammate Shea Charles "a joke" and added: "I wish I was as good as him when I was 20." He was also playing his first season in senior professional football. Admittedly, his performances dropped in the 2nd half of the season and his quality under pressure was exposed but a lot of this was, in my opinion, due to the way RM was asking Southampton to play which didn't suit his style. I am very glad to see him back, I think he will mature into an excellent PL level midfielder and his Championship experience this season will stand him in good stead (if he isn't sold).
  18. Why aren't we getting Romulu if he is good enough for Fenerbahce and he is at a sister club?
  19. It's so reassuring to have an expert on the universe and everything on this forum.
  20. Waiting for the transfer window?
  21. I think you may have missed the joke here
  22. Can't help but feel sorry for Ross Stewart as a person though. It's not his fault that we splashed out cash for him when his fitness was already suspect. I'm sure he has earned excellent wages but I'm also convinced that he has some miserable times not being able to play.
  23. 31,000 at the next ladies match then ..
  24. I'm not employed in the football profession and even more critically I have never even played FIFA or Football Manager which probably means that I have no valid opinion whatsoever. However, being more than a little miffed with this current outfit and having even bored myself of moaning about the status quo I decided to try and think positively of what we could do to improve matters (not difficult you would think). So, I decided to jot down a few ideas of WHAT could be done by the owners of this club (other than do passable impressions of camels with their heads buried in the sand). "cunning" plan 1) Before we sign anyone ever again, we need to get rid of the people in charge of our signings which have been generally dogshit. 2) Employ a new director of football (not Wankersen) solely responsible for Southampton FC (not the other SR clubs). This person should have relevant high-level experience and success elsewhere. 3) The new DOF should then: employ a new recruitment team that unlike the current lot (who presumably won a raffle for their jobs) know what they are doing. decide who we need as manager for next season in the Championship, someone who ideally knows the Championship and the PL. decide what management structure we need to maximise success on the pitch rather than the success of the fan zone or the canteen as currently appears to be the case e.g. a set-piece coach who can improve our performance at these (very low bar). start to recruit individuals for that management structure and remove individuals who don't fit that structure. 4) In January, we need to try to sell/loan anyone who won't be required next season for promotion from the Championship. 5) The target for Juric for the rest of this season is to get this lazyass group as fit as possible physically and mentally, because they don't seem to be either at the moment. The minimum requirement should be to make it as difficult as possible for the opposition to beat us. Any player who can't do that should not be playing for us. 6) Hopefully, we can have a decent shout at recruiting the players in the summer that we need for AUTOMATIC promotion to the PL. Come on You Reds, a bit of pride that's all we want at the moment.
  25. I think you are right about Rohl, he seems to be doing a great job at a "basket case" of a Championship club which will make us an ideal fit for next season. By then he will know what it takes to get out of the Championship and a good idea of which players he will need to achieve that.
