  1. They change the endings all the time. Rickie will lift the World MegaBowl Cup in a packed out Qatari stadium.
  2. So, did anyone get this today? I still haven't gotten around to finishing the second one, but given this is a new story, thought I'd go for it. Initial impressions are very favourable. Having played both games, it's one hell of a visual upgrade from the PS3 incarnations. They really show "rainy" Seattle off through lighting. Other than that though, seems very much like another inFamous.
  3. Hmm. Iron Man for PS2. Current.
  4. So no source then. Just hyperbole and you wild imagination. Maybe you can imagine 1080p.
  5. Source? I look forward to that one. You said they pulled their numbers from thin air. They say they do use some projected figures, but re-align them when they get actuals.
  6. According to our fans, we're by far the greatest team the world has ever seen. Can't back it up with too many trophies, unfortunately. I listen to a lot of football podcasts, and generally - they talk about two types of club. Big clubs or joke clubs. The fact that people are talking about us for other positive reasons gives us a rare standing in the game. Not a big club, but seen to be doing the right things and talked of well.
  7. I have heard about men going to bingo, but I'm not one of them. Fair play to them; they're very brave - I'm just not sure I could process that many chats going on at the same time.
  8. What a weird article. Goes all out to say that vgchartz don't explain how they derive their figures, which would be fine, except for this:- http://www.vgchartz.com/methodology.php
  9. This budget may not change much on its own, but there's an Autumn mini-budget and the "election" budget next march. I love that the Tories think the plebs will be dancing in the streets because we've got 1p off beer.
  10. Source?
  11. Was able to get some data from VGChartz concerning this 96% jump in sales for XBox One following Titanfall, incidentally the only figure being bandied about in the articles. As I said in my prior post, it's meaningless without some baseline. Couldn't get a UK sales figure, but I was able to procure a sales figure for the whole of Europe. For the week of March 8th ( the week before Titanfall's release ), 15,529 XBox One units were sold in the whole of Europe. Let's be generous and say that the UK bought it all. Applying the 96% to the Europe figure, just over 30K units would have been sold. This article (don't know how trustworthy it is) pegs the UK sales of XBox One hardware at 23K. http://www.insiderp.com/titanfall-launch-sales.html To put it into some sort of context, other games have seen as much as a 700% increase in hardware sales. The Wii went even higher with 1000%. Turns out Titanfall might not be the system seller panacea Microsoft were looking for. Does 23K-30K sales really justify all the headlines?
  12. Samuele Alladici, if you please.
  13. Probably not. The students are no better off. The ones that end up earning will still end up paying back. The ones that don't will still be a huge cost. Frankly, I think the underlying situation is really crap for graduates. Fighting competition from the EU and everyone else that is degree educated. Thank fk I was poor as a youngster. Gave me the pragmatism to go into something that'd make dosh, instead of some w4nky BA that'd have cost me an arm and a leg. Also, thank fk I was born in 1975. Tuition fees didn't even apply when I went. Still had a bit of a grant. I paid off my (relatively tiny) student loans five years after graduating.
  14. Fancy that! Ideologically driven policy ends up costing more than it saves. http://www.theguardian.com/education/2014/mar/21/student-fees-policy-costing-more (bump!)
  15. I have had a Nexus 5 for the last few months now. The headphone jack on my S3 went (yes, yes Essruu - score a point - build quality was disappointing) and my contract is up this year. I was looking for a phone that would allow me to go on a lower tariff. I'm really impressed with it so far, to the extent that my iPad often lies uncharged and unloved for weeks. The screen is fantastic. Full HD; rumbles around my inside pocket. I've dropped the thing a few times and it's still fine. The external speaker isn't that great, but it's a lot of power for the money. The young adult in the house has the iPhone 5s. Her phone seems dinky compared to mine. Really quick machine. Would recommend to anyone that wants a nice phone but doesn't want to spend too much. On Android in general, it strikes me that if you're comfy with basic computing concepts like copying files, etc - it's the way to go if you've got a PC. Not sure how Mac connectivity is these days; I seem to remember Jamie having problems.
  16. Spoof phone-in show done by the Fast Show lot.
  17. Are the reports of the new Ukrainian government seeking to drop Russian as an official language accurate?
  18. I've heard that series at least twenty times. Do you like Down The Line, Bear?
  19. The question is, what is Stephen McCoombes doing right now?
  20. So which are you? Odd or even?
  21. (please imagine David Attenborough voice) As we review our catalogue of early 21st Internet wildlife, we come across a fascinating specimen, a living and breathing example of the trollus imagicanus maximus species. A clever animal, it has many capabilities. As we observe it combat, we see what appears to be a brutal combination. [1] It tries the manipulative emotive jab, [2] the "you are not men!" and "boys don't cry" one-two, [3] jabs element of doubt, [4] somewhat telegraphing "quotes", [5] wild claw swing, [6] loaded attempt at suggestion, [7] attempted reinforcement of "blast" from the past (fk, I'm doing quotes now ), [8] calls ottery a liar, [9] attempts to frame posters' content by insisting what the subject is. [10] attempts to re-open old debate which he once left out of "decency".
  22. I am sure that there are some genuine anti-semites out there, as opposed to people critical of Israeli policy and its effects around the world. It's a permanent double standard for the West, and a permanent source of resentment in the Middle East. The AS-bomb was dropped on Anelka, dropped on supporters of the BDS boycotts. Boycotts are a legitimate form of protest; something that may influence policymakers in Israel. To Netanyahu, that's anti-semitic. Everybody knows that Anelka is not a genocidal madman, most people didn't even know what it was. The level of hysteria was predictably and aptly disproportionate. Same thing goes for Netanyahu's claims about boycott supporters. It's a weaponised term that has lost its potency through over-use. That's a shame - because as I said in my opening sentence, there are genuine anti-semites out there that would cause harm. The term should probably be reserved for them.
  23. As Roy Walker used to say in Catchphrase, it's good, but it's not right. Even Barry will get that reference.
  24. Inclination is more worrying.
  25. That's 30,000,000 items from Poundshop. It must be tempting.
