  1. In what way is a difference of over a million discrete pixels a matter of opinion? I tire of this. If all you're going to do is regurgitate the vague opinions of others, then I believe the only course of action is to show you. Anyone interested in this already-won technical cockfight should take a look too. Image 1) Screenshot from Skyrim @ 1920 x 1080 ( The res PS4 can do ) Image 2) Screenshot from Skyrim @ 1280 x 720 ( The res that the XBox One is spitting out COD and BF4 in ) Image 3) That 720 image upscaled. This is what the XBox One does on COD and BF4. Your insistence that Image 1 and Image 3 are "very close" is a load of rubs. You bought a less powerful machine at a higher price. Get over it.
  2. I've quantified how much better COD is. It has twice the detail of the upscaled 720p XBox One version. How is "twice as detailed" suddenly "very close"? Please answer that.
  3. Where are the insults? Personally, I think you're being a tad picky and you're the one that's missed the point. XBox One can bung out a 1080p signal. It just isn't using all the pixels on some cross-platform games. On the PS4, those same games are filling an entire full HD screen. Do you still think I've missed the point? Is your comprehension matrix as muddled as your insult detection system?* (* that was an insult, btw. I know you have trouble).
  4. If Lambert really wants to go, take him off the banner, ta. A Saints legend wouldn't countenance it in these circumstances. Wait and see first, though.
  5. 99% of all speculation is unwittingly talking sh!t in advance. Worth remembering.
  6. It's simple maths, Bucks Saint. Definition is determined by the number of discrete pixels you can bang on a screen. There are other factors too; the smaller the screen, the better it looks. Those things being equal, 1080p is 2x more defined than 720p - and there's no getting away from it. I've been reading the Digital Foundry stuff over at Eurogamer since release. I'd suggest you read this before proceeding further. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-resolutiongate-the-fallout
  7. You remind me of the HD luddites who insisted they can't see any difference. The maths is pretty simple. 1280 x 720 = 921,600 pixels. 1920 x 1080 = 2,073,600 pixels. That's over twice as much detail.

Hehe. Parasite Street. Coming soon to Channel 4? http://www.parasite-street.co.uk/

  10. Please do not popularise Edmonds or any of his works. It makes you look like the sort of moron that watched his shows.
  11. Due to my work with large corporates, and the tendency for people in accountable positions to disappear quickly when the wind changes. I've seen a lot of high profile departures (relatively speaking) in my time. Today, sh!t will begin to get real. Those that saw Cortese as a universal constant at the club (I include MLG in this ) are having to get used to a new reality. Won't take too long for it to sink in. There are differences, obviously. Corporate salaried staff don't command anything like professional footballers, nor are they as in demand. One thing that you see a lot of in the corporate world is former golden boys and girls having their careers set back, largely because they tied their aspirations to the ongoing success of one high level executive. That doesn't apply here either. None of our lads are trying to grease themselves up the corporate pole; if anything, the worst case scenario end up working for another firm. Much will depend on Katharina's intentions and the vision, if any, that she puts to the team.
  12. Cortese directed vast amounts of cash our way when all seemed lost. I know the money came from the Liebherr's, and full credit to them for that, but Nicola brought it to us, as these day one articles show. http://pap.centelia.net/EC_20090709_MAIN_TAC_042.PDF http://pap.centelia.net/EC_20090709_MAIN_TAC_043.PDF Five years later, and look where we are. I don't know if Nicola is this way inclined, but if he wanted to stand on top of Albion Towers, arms aloft shouting "veni vidi vici", I'd have no problem with that. Based on the five year plan, that's what he did. Didn't agree with every decision he made. The whole boycott of the Echo made us look like a laughing stock, as did the insistence on bought and paid for press photos and our consequent billing of South Coast Club. Roughly this time last year, we were all shocked with the ruthlessness of Adkins' sacking, especially with Pochettino waiting in the wings. Even if you saw the cold hard logic of the decision, you also had to take into account the negative press we got as a result. Hopefully the rift with the Echo will now be repaired. Whatever your opinion, Cortese was his own man, and as much as single-mindedness can be an asset, it's probably what did for him in the end. Thanks for everything, Nicola.
  13. And on another note, how does MLG feel about Cortese loving the club and never wanting to leave in Football Manager? That's twice now
  14. Shut up. We love it.
  15. Can you afford to be picky?
  16. Depends. I can't resign; I have to work the length of my contract. If I want to do something else, I need to wait for the contract to elapse.
  17. I never knew it was that easy. What's your password, hypo? I've already tried "idefinitelyhaveagirlfriend". All lower case?
  18. Just driven Juvenile Unit #2 down to dentist. F*cking Liebherr crane right in front of me at the lights!
  19. 1080p > 720p mate. Play BF4 or COD on both and you'll see the miles.
  20. Splitters like colinjb not going all the way, mush. I've voted again today
  21. How much money has Michael Falkia got these days? Has he moved out of his mum's house yet?
  22. Timing is interesting. As someone as already said, we're in a transfer window. A couple of days before this happens, there is apparent interest from the likes of Milan. Makes you wonder whether NC has pals back in Italy tub-thumping for him.
  23. Good album, and at the time, good band. Slide Away is the best tune on the album. My respect for Oasis as a band diminished when I heard the opening bars to Don't Look Back In Anger, and utterly disappeared by the time I head "The Hindu Times", the point at which they started to rip off their contemporaries (as opposed to The Beatles, etc). The Blur/Oasis and Liam/Noel stuff was of no interest to me.
  24. Dear, oh dear. Reports coming in from a few quarters now. January has certainly been interesting lately.

Meat for the grinder. Do you think it really starts and ends with television entertainers and radio DJs?
