  1. Useful to know. Like I said, been years since I've done similar so good to hear of something that can do the job.
  2. Any update on the chin a copper situation? Bearsy told me you're working your way up. That you'll start with a WPC or hobby bobby or suchlike.

Are you in favour of benefit claimants living on the streets then, hypo? Is that an acceptable price to pay for your tax bill? Let's not forget; a large proportion of benefits go to those in work.

  5. Indeed, with one small change. Effigies of Thatcher to be burnt on that day by those that opposed her. Actual poor people burnt by Thatcher's supporters. I realise that this isn't a very constructive addition to the debate.
  6. Well, Guy Fawkes gets a day, after all. Bit weird that one.
  7. Hmm, the Telegraph said they couldn't reprint the specifics of the allegations due to legal reasons.
  8. Steve Grant; rebel, fighter and raging against the machine. Rumour has it he'll be chinning a copper at tea-time.

Seven reasons to stop b!tching about people on benefits. A top read. http://bit.ly/1axjq5G
  10. Isn't it an opportunist form of schadenfreude?
  11. Well, it's certainly not the first thing I've heard about the individual today. I know for a fact ( thanks to Leeds fans ) that his name is an anagram of Colin W4nker.
  12. Anyone heard of this? There's a private member's bill in Parliament seeking to rename the August bank holiday to Margaret Thatcher Day. One of my mates stuck a petitions link up in Facebook which is predictably calling on people to sign up to prevent this from happening. The bill gets its second reading on January 17th. http://services.parliament.uk/bills/2013-14/margaretthatcherday.html Think it's slightly mental myself. Makes me wonder what's next. Cromwell Day, anyone?
  13. Wow. Beans spilt. Never knew about this kind of practice before, if I'm honest. Not without basis with the specific individual, or a more general trend?
  14. Sorry Phil. Missed this first time out, although this is far from the first time you've pegged creative talent to smokeable substances. Let's run through the options:- 1) Crack cocaine. Unlikely. It's highly addictive to the point where our writers probably wouldn't care about finishing a script; more like "which cock do I have to suck to get my next fix" 2) Weed Again, unlikely. The most honest criticism I've ever heard of weed is from Charlie Brooker, who likens partaking to pressing a giant pause button in your life. For that reason, I'm discounting chronic smoking here, although weekend inspiration may be a factor. 3) Cigarettes Of all the "what have they been smoking" options, this is the likeliest. Well done Phil, you advert for cigarettes, you. Personally, I think you need to expand your question to "what have they been taking?".
  15. I caught The Last Stand last night. Utter B-movie, with some unintentionally hilarious lines. That said, it does have some stuff I've never seen in a movie before. One review I read said it's fine until anyone needs to act. Think I'd go along with that. I wonder if the acting had anything to do with the director making his first US film? Despite all that, a beloved 6/10.

A very good article on the show, which argues that Benefits Street would never have been made if our media was in a better place. http://www.independent.co.uk/voices/comment/benefits-street-a-healthy-media-would-stand-up-to-the-powerful-and-wealthy-ours-targets-the-poor-and-voiceless-9046773.html
  17. Haven't used it in years, but you might want to check out iDump.
  18. I only ever saw him in a pre-season friendly at Eastleigh. No one stood out that day.
  19. I speak from recent experience. Most people are alright, but with some, it's a lot like playing Lemmings. Very difficult to keep them from causing themselves great harm. One of Juvenile Unit #1's mates spewed on an extension and took downstairs' plug sockets out. Wouldn't advise drinking yourself, in case you end up having to taxi some of them back.
  20. That's a good link. Found loads of eighties movies. I started watching The Running Man; it's set in 2017 so it must be starting on the telly soon. Channel4's next show after Benefits Street?

    New telly

Go to Richer Sounds and speak to them. They have tons of good deals and usually know their stuff. There may also be local deals that you can benefit from. That, combined with a smartphone for a quick Internet second opinion should see you right.

I'm sure CB Saint is correct. All publicity is good publicity. It was a good point he made there.
  23. I resurrected a hamster with a hairdryer once. At least that's my story, and the basis of the lucrative religion I founded thereafter.
  24. Yes, wholly unnecessary that. I saw it myself and wondered why the hell they were ploughing it. Gangsters 50x less bothered about killing people than coppers shocker.
