  1. your previous oweners ran your football club well didn't they lol - or have you conveniently forgot you went into admin ?
  2. like I said we were told we had to find 16.5M by October 15th - if he is the real deal we will soon know. I am surprised how the papers know every single financial detail about the club though - perhaps they have seen the books themselves personally.
  3. lol - most of us aren't - of course we do have alot of morons who assume we are now Man Citeh ! When we get to January we will soon find out, if we do not see the fibre of his fabric then we'll know
  4. have replied - and judging by the fact we need £16.5M within 7 days I would suggest he knows this and has the money
  5. I still don't see what your getting at - why should this be a problem for Al Faraj compared with anyone else ? What factual reasons are there right now to suggest he should not pass ? And vice versa. So until he has been through it why worry - I cannot forsee any reason - we all knew the doc was dodgy, look how long he took to complete. Al Faraj comes in within 1 week and owns the club and pays the bills. People with money act quickly with less talk - as you should know with your new owner
  6. No - I believe the changes went through in July - anyone with over a 10% shareholding had to undergo strict financial scrutiny - therefore as a 90% owner he will have to do the same - whats changed since July ? the premier league has to investigate his background anyway as stated with their new ownership rules
  7. My argument is he does not have to tell anyone anything bar the premier league about his financial backing or clout. The premier league state their new regs ( starting from July I believe ) ensure everything is above board - so where's the big news ? Are you summising that because the doc was a fool Al Faraj automatically is and because no one knows who he is - he is also immediatley dodgy ? I don't see what your getting at ? This is all now standard procedure for any club - Birminghams new owner went through it
  8. its no different than when Gaydamak took over, no one knew who he was or how much money he had, he turned the club around. I am not going to sweat over the integrity of the new owners, like I said they have done more in 2-3 days than SAF did in 6 weeks, thats a start. There is nothing I can do to alter the situation or influence/change it and I still have a club to support which I would not have without Al Faraj, so whichever way you look at it times are better than they were
  9. err did you not note I said he only has to satisfy the premier league of that they cannot be that worried - they passed him as fit and proper, as I understand it under the new regs they also seek the information on where the money is coming from. So thats nothing new and it's new standard procedure for all new takeovers. Next....
  10. why should he answer anything to the press or us, its nothing to do with me where he gets his money from, he only has to satisfy the premier league of that the best way he can answer any questions is to do what he says he is going to and spend the money to do what he has stated. Verbally why should he explain anything just to satisfy the english press or people desperate to know his ins and outs. As far as I a concerned there is nothing to answer but there is alot to do !!
  11. Because for a start he paid out £1.8M for wages immediatlely and appointed Grant on a 3 year contract, something SAF did not even come close to doing in his 6 week tenure. Also knowing that he has to find around £16.5M by Oct 15th - can you really see him doing what SAF has done and winging it, getting to Oct 15th not being able to pay up and then the club going into admin ? Personally I cannot see that although nothing would surprise me. Most sensible pompey fans are happy to wait and see whats delivered before getting over excited, proof will be in the pudding and the January transfer window
  12. I am not really fussed to be honest - if he delivers what he says - training ground, stadium etc I couldn't care if he comes from timbucktoo Your forgetting 7 days ago we had 1 week maybe 2 before we were the first ever premiership club to go into admin
  13. and what's your point ? I repeat as long as he has enough money / or can obtain the money to run the club as a going concern why does it matter if he is billionaire or just a multi millionaire ?
  14. who says he is a billionaire? Gaydamak was not and neither was mandaric and whether you like it or not Portsmouth is a club with history and recent success as well as the city itself being historical. Wigan, Blackburn, Burnely - who abroad will have heard of them ? At least Portsmouth as a city has probably at least been heard of around the world and therefore maybe the initial attraction and link in to potential investors. In truth I don't know but the council are planning a major revamp of alot of portsmouth, perhaps these people think they can get in on it and there is money to be made. we have never had a billionaire owner and I suspect we have not now...all I want is for the club to be run as a going concern with a stadium improvement and training ground
  15. why does it raise questions - as long as he has enough money / or can obtain the money to run the club as a going concern why does it matter if he is billionaire or just a multi millionaire ? I don't see the fascination of needing to know this ? say if he was worth £300-500M - there must be loads more saudi's worth more than this ?
  16. more ammmo for you boys...enjoy -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/portsmouth/article6867358.ece
  17. lol why would he - has our Prem League chairman heard of every rich business man ? doubt it very much. There are a shed load of millionaire/billionaire saudi's why would he of heard of one out of all of them ? another point your all forgetting whch most of us are not, it matters not how much your owner has its how much he willing to spend or put in to the club that matters, so no matter how many billions/millions/pound coins if he only wants to spend 50m then thats that. Most of us are happy we now have a club that can move forward one thing we do know - he has to alledgedly find £16.5M by October 15th to sort pressing debt which I have no doubt he will do - and he has already found this months wages at £1.8M immediately and employed Avram on a 3 year deal which I doubt would have been cheap, so he has done more than The clown did in 6 weeks in 2 days
  18. I am loving the fact that our press are trying desperately to find out about this man so they can run another load of pompeygate stories, keep it coming fookwit redtops
  19. that same saudi has a jewish lawyer as his closest advisor. business is business
  20. its in general sport mush
  21. as long as the capacity is increased and the stadium modernised, most fans will be well happy the old girl stays where she is, she'll have more character than your meccano effort lol albeit half empty
  22. do you not read anything - is it common in saudi to not state personal wealth or big yourself up. Storrie said he has funds to take us to a next level, we will see if he has. How many times also - its apparently not just him with the dosh, theres a consortium behind him. I am more than happy for the press not to be able to find anything, less they know the better proof is in the pudding and I think we will see the pudding, appointing grant is an excellent addition already
  23. point being no one actually knows and he is not alone in his investment - there is a consortia behind him Things starting already - excellent appointment in getting avram grant back whoever just quoted there is no money in it - is there any real money in any football teams outside of the top 4 ? Not all owners are in for profit !! Yours is not - you won't make money like you used to if you get back to the prem and want to be competetive
  24. I am happy I know nothing - it is custom in Saudi not to go blagging about how much dosh you have as I understand it. Going back to when Gaydamak took over no one had really heard of him, his father maybe but nothing much about Sasha at all. I think there are people out there that want to own a football club, not necessarily for profit but for enjoyment. We are told Ali Al Faraj loves the premiership and watches it alot. From my own point of view - why would I buy Newcastle, Everton etc with all the infrastructure etc already there when I can take Portsmouth from the basics and build it up exactly how I want it from training ground to stadium and leave a lasting legacy? Why does everything have to be about money ? Surely Liebherr must realise he is not going to make much out of your lot even if you reach the prem again? with regards to the stadium, there is money to be made around fratton and I believe should we get permission to build at horsea a substantial grant will be available and further money to be made out of development. I believe from the indications received and fromgoing back to 6 weeks ago when they should have been allowed to take over that we have in fact found someone who will finally take the club forward on and off the field. We understand it is also not just him involved and there is other investment backing him up.
