  1. press have the hump coz they cannot dredge up any dirt we will soon see if he is a chancer, apparently the inland revenue have to be paid quite a sum immediately to stop a winding up order, along with Chelski, Spurs, other creditors, banks and agents. If we don't it is still very likely that it will be admin for us very shortly.
  2. I sincerely hope it is not man city style - moulding a club on everton or aston villa is much more preferable
  3. money talks - I actually think we have a reasonable side aswell compared with others in a our div. if we spent 10M in Jan I reckon we would be ok
  4. a certain manager has done it for us before. surely the point is though Phil at least we will be in a position to spend in January which previously we were not, we were days from admin and sure fire relegation, so at present its looking a world better than it was. I will settle for the training ground being built and the stadium being sorted even if it means we go down in the short term, we NEED that infrastructure for the good of the club in the long term.
  5. lol - utter tripe, you do realise that permission has to be given to go on the forbes list ? And show me the statement where they - the Al Faraj brothers have stated they are one of the wealthiest families in saudi ? You will notice Man City's owner is not on the forbes list, most saudi royals also do not allow themselves on it - something to do with privacy and security. So based on your argument, because you cannot find anything about them they are obviously skint. lol - good one, you do realise they have a consortia behind them aswell? ______________________________________________________________________ Peter Storrie today welcomed Ali Al Faraj as the club’s new owner. Pompey’s chief executive officer said: “Naturally I am delighted personally as I had backed Mr Al Faraj’s bid initially. “However, all along the most important factor has been to make sure the club is financially secure and can move forward to ensure our Premier League survival. “I have been very impressed with Mr Al Faraj, his people and their commitment. They are very professional in their approach to the business and I believe that we will have some exciting plans ahead once again for this football club. “Ali is a passionate follower of the Premier League and wants Portsmouth to remain in the best league in world football. There will be money to spend in January to make sure we do not lose our coveted place in the top flight. “Most of all I am pleased for the fans who have stuck by us through this very difficult period and also the staff who have continued to go about their business under trying circumstances.” Mark Jacob, Al Faraj’s lawyer and new Portsmouth Football Club board member, said: “There is going to be substantial investment. “We were ready to invest and push things forward six weeks ago so that was a missed opportunity. However, there will be funds available in January to ensure we are not at the wrong end of the table come the end of the season.” Jacob said the first priority was to pay the players and executive board who had not received their September salaries. He added there was a commitment to continue with plans for a new training ground at Gosport and build a larger stadium for the Pompey faithful. “Both are part of our plans but the most important thing after this difficult period for everyone at the club is to achieve some stability,” he said. “We will be working closely with the executive board and senior management on all aspects of the club’s infrastructure and our goal is to improve every area of the business both on and off the pitch.” http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/index....html&cms_id=78
  6. likes to keep a low profile, the consortium (its not just him) have serious financial muscle, he has a long term interest in developing the club and the community. Wouldn't expect to see him on the terraces or on the press, much like gaydamak. Either way better than the fake doc.
  7. maybe but I actually think this one does have the front to back it up, we have had our pinnacle ala Fahim and now have our Liebherr if you like...
  8. massive investment of funds in the offing, training ground to start, large transfer fund available for January, and at last we get our real billionaires.
  9. I am particularly enjoying the "one of saudi's richest men" quote looks like if we can hang on until january within 6 points of 17th we can spend our way out of it again
  10. err...was info direct from the club. In fact PS himself. I help run POL and can confirm this was direct from the club.
  11. info received on POL suggests that agreement is almost reched for Al Fahim to step aside and take a minor role and the Al Faraj consortium (who have already passed fit and proper) will take control having already put £5M in for wages,
  12. we have one chance and this is it, and seeing as your believing all the rest of the papers today then there ought to be some merit in this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1217576/Portsmouth-broke-Rival-consortium-pay-players-wages-beleaguered-club.html Al Faraj does have a significant amount of money, if SAF steps aside we may survive. Its a long shot though. And after all whats happened its really quite funny in a macabre sort of way
  13. one thing you can say - we'll be a great CCC team next year lol
  14. lol - and this is where you lot make me laugh you have a billionaire yes ? well he is really financing you out of league 1 isn't he - I mean splashing the cash a la Notts County style. Your gonna walk your league ok, enough already, but the point is neither you and I are privvy to the deal or how much money he has. What money he has coming in from elsewhere and who might make money available to him. He is very pally with Holger Heims. Whichever way you look at it, our club is saved for now and stability can return It doesn't matter how much owners have or are worth - as you know they are only worth how much they put in we may have lost a multi billionaire - but only lost one if he was prepared to go large and we will never know. We have just come out of a situ with someone going large then nearly killing us, perhaps the doc will build sensibly - I know which I prefer and its not a Man City style takeover.
  15. no close of play tomorrow most money going on this bloke Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani - worth around $2B who knows though - getting as protracted and drawn out as your one was lol ! no one really knows.
  16. Dubai Phil - heard anything about the rumours we have found another middle eastern investor - rumoured to be one of the prince's. To be announced by tomorrow, Al Fahim is leaving the board with Storrie as chairman. Storrie apparently has said its deffo a middle eastern new owner and its not SAF.
  17. its now on our O/S that Storrie is in negotiations and expects it to conclude favourably - rumour has it the consortium backing could be massive but we will wait and see... it seems like we may well have had a pinnacle style takeover but been lucky like you in finding a better option with far more money behind the deal at the last minute
  18. oops http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/newshome/Storrie-seals-deal-to-take.5568468.jp
  19. its about to be sorted out finally...announcement on O/S suposedly to be announced very soon....we will see http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/newshome/St ... 5568468.jp
  20. depends if Richard Li is the backer coming in with Storrie who is running a bid along side of SAF
  21. result and performance of our new striker that matters, do not give a fook about attendance when its league position and current status that counts, right now we are the better club in hants, that may well change in 3 years but for now no contest. to be honest if we were both in the same league and you were getting 50k and us 1k - if we were above you and beating you attendance means sweet FA - n'est pas ? 2-0 pompey f/t - piquionne with both, not bad against equivalent of a bottom 6 prem side - sort of sides we will be down with this season

no - according to some fans we are the biggest not all, you lot claim we are obsessed with attendances - you haven't stopped going on about it since you went down, nickg on here was asking again how our ticket sales are going - lol - who gives a stuff, surely it would be better for you to concentrate on "taking back your rightful place" as you put it, so you have some sort of decent argument rather than banging on about attendances. anyway you lot will get your wish soon - rumour is gathering again - administration within a week.....
  25. last post as reached 3 - is abit odd I agree - but deal hanging by a thread? - doubt he would have joined the board if thats the case - why not just pull out and be done with it. who can tell. I can't do anything about it so I shall wait and see.
