  1. I was surprised to see and read my Matty tribute in it. Worth the 2.99 just to read that ! Wonder if many on here had theirs printed ?
  2. Breeny

    Libellous posts

Excellent news. Back to the team topics and the game in general .It will be worth logging in again !
  3. Australia...AP could top up his tan as well...
  4. I heard that he had a two week trial with Newcastle jets from the Australian A league. Apparently they did not want him !
  5. Confirmed idiot . Like a lot of others I am Southampton born and bred, Saints through and through. This site gives Saints fans living and working overseas a chance to post comments and enjoy it as much as anyone else. If you don't like what you read simply go away....hopefully for good !
  6. Ouch, hey Breeny was Karen dating Terry Beale from Thornhill way when you were with Pat? Those two were together for ages. Bob, Terry's brother is still a good mate of mine. Terry was good mates with other Saints regulars Steve Taylor, Gary Clements, Kev Cousins and Al Pont. Kevin Cousins excelled himself at pompee away for Milkens testimonial when we stuffed them 0-7...another mental Saints night in '72!! Great thread for us 'oldies' to reminisce ! I cant recall who Karen was dating a the time, I am sure she was Leeds fan though ? Sounds as if Pat L. got at least three of us in the nuts ! Remember John Milkins 7 - 0 testimonial as well, that was a big day out. Loads of memories of deaf and dumb Dave and Tony. Like someone said all the girls went after Dave. Also not football related but recall 'Jesus' of The End fame coming into the Warrens before a game. His bike had been set alight at the common fair and he was not happy ! I know who did it because I was with him !
  7. I remember us going straight into the Boothen end at Stoke. Around the same era Again maybe three coach loads at the most fueled with loads of larger !! That was a massive end in those days and we stood our ground ! Brighton friendly.Cant remember the year but it was a friendly and we broke into the Goldstone ground knocking over this huge wooden gate ! I remember before the game walking along Brighton seafront with thousands of Saints fans looking back as far as the eye could see.......
  8. I was with the Warrens crew.We were all as drunk as lords and straight into the middle of their kop which was a bloody big one !!
  9. I was there ... We went straight into the middle of their kop end before the start of the game. I remember going up to this Sheffield Utd Skinhead chick and having a good snog with her ! I am sure at the time Bramall lane was an odd shape with a cricket pitch leaving one of the side stands a long way from the pitch ? We got into a bit of strife in some of those under street subways after the game
  10. Great post. Like you I support Saints form Australia but I am based in Perth. Originally from Southampton and have been with Saints since the late 60s I Got to see the MK and Poopy games as well as I came back for them. Coming from an AFL stronghold such as Melbourne give yourself a round of applause . Well done ! Cheers
  11. Yes that's me Breeny . I have just got back to Perth Western Australia....and its bloody hot here after the cold weather there ! Really enjoyed both games but gutted at the 4-1 scoreline which did not do us justice. Would have loved to get back for Wembley as I have not seen Saints play at Wembley since the 76 final.......but time and $$$ !!
  12. booking the flights today...........!
  13. He was in Perth WA recently completing a big finance deal. Saw his pic in the business section of the local paper. Ugly & fat as ever
  14. I have to subscribe to saints player as due to copyright laws I cant get solent down here in Perth. Yes its absolute rubbish, reception cut out every few minutes. KO time is 11.00 pm here so I went to bed at half time.....couldn't be bothered to put up with the crap reception !
  15. I always hated Pompey been to fratton a few times with saints over the years. Must admit their city image seems to have overtaken us in recent years. I still play masters football here and we have a couple of pompey lads in the team. Don't know if its being so far away but I have a good laugh with them and we take the Pi** out of each other. Still desperately want them to go down though !
  16. Already I had a few done at Zaks in six dials I went back to Zaks aged 22 and got a biggish saints crest and cup winners 1976 on my right upper arm. Just back from the final & legless. Must admit I hate it now in 2009 . My tatts are really dated . Being single on dates is the worst problem. Telling a nice mature lady you have tats all over your arms including a football one dated 1976 . Makes me cringe now . I have looked at laser removal ...painful and expensive... !
  17. I recently went to an AFL game at the Telstra Dome in Melbourne. 50,000 + crowd. You could walk to any one of many bars or food outlets at anytime Get your pre poured beer large or small in a plastic cup. Take it back to your seat all in 5 minutes at the most ! BTW On a cold or rainy day the roof is closed. SMS may be a fairly new stadium ...but the standard of basic supporter amenities is woeful Probably more to do with ancient laws than the club?

  19. Well I have spent 18 hours in the air ( 4-5 of it in heavy turbulence over Asia ! ) another 3 hours on a coach .Cost me a packet and gone to the game still all alone ....and Ive done it more than once ! Mmmm ....if your a sad case I dread to think what I am !
  20. I work in the mining industry in Western Australia. Liebherr are a massive player in the large Iron ore open pit operations .With their range of Giant Haul Packs ( $4.0 million + each ) Shovels ( No... not the ones you hold in your hand ! loaders , mobile cranes etc etc I wonder how they will all fit on the the 1st team shirts when Flybe get the flick !
  21. Working in the mining industry here in Australia Liebherr (Leeber ) are a massive player Perhaps someone creative on here can design the next sponsors saints shirt with will be Liebherr no doubt. Problem is how to fit a giant haul pack, Excavator shovel, mobile crane and a wheel loader onto the shirt !
  22. Had dinner with John and his wife with a few friends all from Southampton a couple of months back .He lives here in Perth WA. Great guy a saints legend and he still follows the club with a passion !
  23. I have seen a few games. I would put the Aussie A leauge at around lower Leauge1 level. Robbie Fowler will be playing in it next season so he should score around 20 + even off the bench !
  24. Fresh start.......Docklands Stadium...... sounds a lot more intimidating than St Marys !
